Destiny 2:Lightfall keeps shutting off my PS5 mid-game
Been playing Destiny 2 (PS5 version) on my PS5 since the launch of the PS5, never once had an issue. Since Lightfall, when playing intensive activities (Root of Nightmares, legendary Avalon, etc) my PS5 will just black screen then shut off. I can't turn it back on until I unplug all plugs and power cycle, then use the power button on the console. It doesn't give me any message about overheating, the console is in a well-ventilated area, but I opened it up and cleaned it anyway -- it wasn't remotely dirty/dusty in there, but I still cleaned it. Rebuilding the database, factory reset, etc, didn't work.
There is no specific error message when the console turns back on -- just that it previously shutdown wrong and it wants to do the usual check. Any other game/app works fine, I can leave the PS5 on all day and it's fine. But I'm lucky if I make it to the second encounter in Root of Nightmares/legendary Avalon before the console shuts off.
Is this confirmed to just be Destiny 2? It seems like it, but why is it only affecting some people and not others? Is there any solution?

Long shot; are you playing with HDR on? Try turning it off and see how it goes...

5 RepliesI can confirm this is happening not just to you but me as well, I can play the new raid for approximately 20 minutes and then it hard crashes my system to having to unplug it before powering it back on again and I've had game crashes while doing the rare public event multiple times. Please Bungie help us I only wish to play the game.
