Restriction due to Connection, Don't Know Why

Hello, Last night I opened Destiny 2 and it said I was restricted from matchmaking with other players for two weeks due to connection issues. Aside from ruining my Friday night, this really confused me, as I feel like I don't have any more connection issues than my friends, and they don't get restrictions. I did get the warning message that my account was flagged for connection issues about two or three weeks before this, but I didn't do anything about it because I couldn't see the connection issues they were talking about. Now that I'm restricted, I guess something is wrong that I just didn't know about, so I was wondering if some of you guys would be able to help me figure out what. I play on Wi-Fi, sometimes on a home network but most of the time on a university network. The game tells me the university network has a Strict NAT whenever I log on, which I would say is probably the issue but I've been playing on this same network for a year without having problems, so I'm still confused. Is there anything else I should check for? I could buy an ethernet cable as there is a port in my dorm room. But even if I switch to ethernet, should I continue to play on the university network? I'm afraid the same thing will happen again due to the network itself. Also, does anyone have any advice for how to get them to lift my restriction early? I heard they don't respond to appeals but I've been getting so into this game recently and it's hard to stomach two weeks without it. It sounds silly but do you think if I send in an appeal with a picture of my PC set up with an ethernet cord, that would convince them? Thanks in advance for any responses.

  • "Also, does anyone have any advice for how to get them to lift my restriction early? I heard they don't respond to appeals" They don't even take a second to look at appeals for matchmaking restrictions. You're just going to have to wait it out. Quit super early last season because of the same issue. After 2 weeks it becomes 2 months, and then it's permanent. Chances are, If I ever get the two month one, I'll be dropping Destiny 2 all together. The amount of bugs and issues that run rampant in the game as well as server issues that CAUSE the restrictions is just unacceptable.
