Arc Soul, Void Soul, but no Solar Soul.. why? Combine Heat Rises + Icarus Dash, add in a Solar Soul. It could apply scorch stacks or offer restoration/radiant.. either way, it needs to exist. Solar Warlock is W E A K.

That would imply that solar warlock has a soul to begin with.

Edited by WulfPak666: 2/1/2023 5:34:39 PMBy no means is Solar Warlock a bad subclass, it's just stale and lacks real build potential. Unless you want to Spazzy around with Sunbracers, 9/10 you're using Starfire and that's it. If you want healing you have to use Heat Rises or a heal grenade. There's no way around it. And that limits you from the start. You're probably running Well because it's literally the best super in the game so you'd be stupid not to. As a Warlock Main, I hate all these stupid gimmick buddies that play the game for you. Arc buddy was one thing but Stasis turret... that is insane. Might as well just turn off the enemy Ai entirely with that one. Lil void suck buddy is meh, slight annoyance in pvp but nothing to really fuss about. Oh and projectile melee abilities (especially when they take away Atomic breach for void ball) I hate that stuff too. Nothing beats a good ol palm smash to the chin. I also think Well is a boring, garbage super that has all but killed the Solar Warlocks build diversity as well as Bungie's philosophy for how endgame content and encounters should be designed. Much like with Divinity, every single encounter or piece of content Bungie makes has to take into account that at any point in time, Well is going to be used and nothing can kill you. It astounds me how one of if not the BEST most passive super in the game has the fastest cooldown while other supers that barely do a single digit % of what Well can do have almost a 12 min cooldown. It literally does everything. Crowd control, area lockdown, survivability, DPS and all that on a 6 min cooldown?? Wth? That is absolutely stupid. Pissy Crylock rant over. Delete Well. Buff Daybreak. Give me back those Vex harpy tendril arms from that D1 strike plz. 🫠

Edited by DarkMoonWolf666: 2/1/2023 4:17:28 PMSolar warlock is strong but only not you use starfire protocol with the grenade aspect Outside of that the class barely got any synergy with the new buff or its exotics In order to make Star fire build works you need to get empowered rift which nobody use ...its like saying for Lorelei to work you need to have shoulder charge equip and only your melee can trigger it Warlock have way to many restrictions over their exotics most of the solar buff doesn't work well ....seriously why warlock has the least restoration effect ? I'm not asking the class to be stronger ...but for it to make sense with the new kit The clase that seriously struggling is arc imo....their main thing is something other class can easily get it got nerfed and the boost for abilities when charged are only for melee and arc soul ....

4 RepliesEdited by Prism: 1/31/2023 12:27:40 PMSo... 1 Super which HEALS instantly + Weapon DPS buff 1 Healing Grenade (Optional) 1 Healing or Empowering Rift Ranged Melee attacks which work with Karnstein or Necrotic Grips Starfire Protocol which makes everything easier + Other exotics which work with the Solar class alone more effectively is considered weak? I'm over here still using Nezzys Sin since Void and Arc Warlocks barely get anything spicy to mess around these days. Also pair in mind Judgement of Kelgorath works with Karnstein and Necrotic so that's ahella strong in the right Solar Warlock hands.

Solar warlock is the strongest warlock subclass. Because the other besides stasis kinda suck

4 RepliesLmao. Smfh, warlocks won’t be happy until Hunter and Titan are 100% useless compared to warlock. No, this is 100% NOT needed
-
4 RepliesDefinitely not weak because of starfire/fusions, but thats pretty much all its got going for it. Definitely needs some help.
-
1 ReplyI’d settle for something little different. Like an aspect that generates solar traces that seek out enemies and explode and scorch targets. Maybe some healing for you and allies on scorch tics or something.

Edited by Artisan: 1/31/2023 11:46:16 PMI mean theyve had a full year to sort out Warlock but just didnt bother beyond a very paltry insufficient minor tweak following the massive complaints after their Solar nerfs, whilst everything else saw huge improvements, upgrades, new features and buffs. They didnt do shiz. Dawnblade damage is weak, amongst the very weakest in the game. And a mandatory sit in a Well just to shoot is amongst the boring game mechanics in the entire game at this stage. We got a highly conditional Radiant procc based upon not only using up a charged melee but upon scoring a hit with it, making longer range radiant weapons completely useless (RIP eg Radiant Scout use in PvP) , whilst other Classes - Hunter - got an entirely unconditional version, requiring nothing other than a flip to procc, any place, any time, on the move. Will they buff and give upgrades to the disastrous Light reworks which handed out much of the kit to other classes? Possibly. But we pay by year/expansion not for some immaterial end result - we dont get either our money or our time back.

2 RepliesI could have sworn Bungie said that each of the warlock elements would have its own “soul” buddy back before 3.0 started rolling out. I could just have poor memory though.
-
Solar lock is limited, but far from weak my man.
-
The cool thing about the Subclass 3.0 system is that they can add Aspects and Fragments into the game. It’s possible we can get this in the future. They did it with stasis so we’ll see if our Light Subclasses get new aspects in lightfall.

Solar Warlock is W E A K.
Yet it is still the most dominant and often required PvE subclass in the game by far.
-
All true except for the weak part. It’s still a good subclass and obvi Well is damn near mandatory. But yeah a solar soul would be cool as hell.
-
I can see why you'd suggest combining those two aspects, as they are both about aerial movement. though one is about staying in the air while attacking, and the other about moving quickly through the air. also, not every warlock subclass needs a "soul" aspect. Dawnblade Warlocks already have numerous ways to scorch, the options for Phoenix Dive, Healing Rift, or Healing Grenade for healing, and can use Ember of Torches to become radiant. Every Solar 3.0 term is already in play here in multiple ways. There is really no need for a "Solar Soul"; and it would only water down the unique Dawnblade subclass identity. I do hope that Strand Warlocks get some sort of cool summon too, but it really does not need to be a "Strand Soul" anymore than the Stasis Turret needed to be a "Stasis Soul". And no...the subclass is not weak. it has some of the most potent grenade builds in the game -- which comes with enhanced grenades for the second subclass to do so -- and possesses probably the most sought after super for end game PVE activities. it sounds to me like you really just need to find a build for the subclass that you like; which will be all the easier to have around in Lightfall. Let Dawnblade keep its identity as the Aerial Light subclass

5 RepliesI was agreeing right up until you said they were weak
Arc Soul, Void Soul, but no Solar Soul.. why? Combine Heat Rises + Icarus Dash, add in a Solar Soul. It could apply scorch stacks or offer restoration/radiant.. either way, it needs to exist. Solar Warlock is W E A K.
The class definitely isn’t weak, but a solar soul would fit the class identity. Hunter should also get an arc and solar dive ability. Titan should get a stasis shoulder charge.

22 RepliesEdited by Zydron, The Gate Lord: 1/30/2023 4:04:52 AMLol fusion grenades with starfire is very op, all subclasses are very strong, solar warlock is currently the best build for pve currently because of that well of radiance and the fusion grenades. Having a solar soul could make this broken op.
-
Solar warlock goes BOOM! I regularly get big numbers on boss dmg. As a support. Go figure
-
If anything the Grenade Aspect should give Healing Grenades two variants Hold the Grenade and throw it to make a healing turret or just throw it for 2X restoration. If Icarus dash gets made with Heat rises then I would say other movement aspects should be paired with other aspects. For Instance, Trappers Ambush should also take in Invis Dodge or Shatterdive take in The Slow Dodge aspect.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 1/31/2023 12:37:07 AMI think you're close... not a solar soul, per say... but how about a healing turret? Seemingly overlooked, the warlock glaive can produce a healing turret... that's too cool of a mechanic and asset to keep restricted to such a finite and niche use case... right? And look at mini-bubble... there's a big bubble... Arc buddy on Getaway but also built into the subclass... so I think it's very likely that Warlocks get an aspect or fragment on solar that allows you to charge any grenade and turn it into a healing turret. I also think this will address the criticism of losing the dual purpose charge'able healing nade... bringing it back allowing for that mechanic once again and improving it, because you could have the dmg nade/healing turret combo OR static heal nade/healing turret combo. After I explain it, doesn't it seem obvious that Warlocks are getting healing turrets? And not to mention the inbound nerf to resilience... the death of protective light which is basically just well of tenacity starting in Lightfall... but no one uses that dps mitigator because it's bad. Anywho... healing turrets, 99% sure they're coming... 😇👍💠.

You are the solar soul. Alternatively, you eat the solar soul with heat rises.
