They actually made grinding gambit obsolete when they reduced the glow on gambit jadestone.

The obnoxious glow was probably the worst part of the shader. The base green is really nice but the glow was not a good part of the shader.

I know, that nerf was really mindboggling. The shader had been out for years and now suddenly it's a problem? But as you said some people only played Gambit just to get that shader.

Bungie should revert that change. The glow was so unique that it actually influenced players to grind or buy new ornaments just see to how the glow would be on exotic ornaments, sparrows and ships. If the change was made because of the ghost which was blinding others, they could have just toned down the glow on that particular item instead of nerfing the whole shader. Imo they could even do a poll and ask if they want to revert it or not and i bet that most people would choose to revert it back.
