My theory is a lot scarier.
‘the children of Sol cry out for salvation’
In lore of The Nine there was a vote to separate themselves from humanity which may or may not lead to the death (read: extinction) of one or both. Four voted for separation, four voted against. What if the Witness is coming for the Nine?
The war could be won against us without us firing a single shot.

I've said this in relation to that quote. Sol Progeny...literally the definition, also where we met (presumably) the witness first, as us. Where the death of an anomaly happened. Where crow had said it could be a warning device. //They cried out, would you like to know why? //Just saying Warmind may have more to do with it, than people can perceive within their minds eye.

That's 8. 4 voted to separate. 5 voted to help.
That's 8. 4 voted to separate. 5 voted to help.
The deciding vote abstained until after the Red War I believe. But consider the fact the deciding vote wasn’t sure in the first place. That’s not good.

Nice.

The Witness will take on anybody so the Nine have got to be on the menu.
