1. Because some people can’t disagree without it becoming personal.
2. There is a fight going on within the player base, where the side that is losing (PVP, Destiny-as-shooter) is getting increasingly shrill in their complaints and some are toxic in their behavior….
….while some of us on the winning side (PvE, Destiny as action-mmo with shooter mechanics) are getting frustrated with the complaints. Especially ones that are clearly not compatible with Bungie’s stated vision of the game.
IOW, showing up at a pizza place and constantly complaining that you want burgers. At some point someone is going to tell you to go somewhere else to eat, rather than continue to complain about the food at a restaurant you insist on coming to regularly.
TLDR: not all criticism is constructive or comes from a good place. But that doesn’t excuse being rude to the person offering it. Though the person offering it needs to understand that the world isn’t obligated to agree with his or her take. We all have our own views and tastes.

Destiny 2 isn't even close to being a "pizza place where people complain about not having burgers". Destiny 2 is a deli that serves a variety of food stuffs to the detriment of the whole, with very little of it being particularly good.

Sad but true unfortunately
IOW, showing up at a pizza place and constantly complaining that you want burgers. Now they serve up small, stale, unseasoned burgers on the side. I’m not defending the endless whiners, but surely I can’t be the only person who loves Destiny PvP, sets their expectations accordingly (for a side activity in a PvE focussed game), but just wants a little more care and attention put into it, than has been over the last few years.
Also, the pizza place is rumoured to be opening a burger joint in the future, so maybe they want to test out their burger recipes and improve them beforehand? One can hope.
Edited by The Hermit IX: 10/31/2022 10:24:33 PMI posted something similar only to be attacked lol. It’s absurd and I do understand that not everyone shares the same opinion but there’s a huge difference between constructive criticism/feedback and toxic angry “Bungo” posts by players who pay to play a game they hate or players who don’t play anymore.

No doubt..

I muted him. I’m tired of his trolling.
2. There is a fight going on within the player base, where the side that is losing (PVP, Destiny-as-shooter) is getting increasingly shrill in their complaints and some are toxic in their behavior….
I can post a whole thread on this right here.

No doubt. The frustration for me is I saw this coming three years ago, and yet this part of the player base just refuses to let go and move on. I don’t get it….
-
As a hardcore PvP main myself, I finally said enough was enough and took a break. I more than likely will not be returning to the game consistently until either the comp rework, or Lightfall drops so I can at most feel it out. I’ve been having much more fun in PvP based games than this one, Bungie has completely given up on PvP and I just had to unfortunately accept that.

I'll just copy pasta something I posted just two days ago that's foundational of a lot of my recent commentary of certain parts of the 'community':
I feel bad for game devs who have to balance a game around the fact that players wanna do as much damage as possible with the least amount of risk imaginable. And getting yelled at for not helping them cheese their intended design.
I'm not somebody who's captain of any game's defense force. But something happened just the last five or six years where I've read the worst gameplay takes I ever read or heard in my gaming life. Youtubers with a million subs spouting absolute nonsense. Threads where guys are wildly passionate about things I know for a fact is dead wrong. It's been really tiring and made me kinda disassociate from the 'community'.

This is funny coming from you

Edited by dougisjericho: 11/1/2022 10:45:59 PMRight? During forsaken this guy cried more than anyone on these forums because the game didn't fit what he wanted.

More like going to a pizza place to get pizza, it’s good, you keep coming back and then one day you order the pizza, out comes the pizza box, inside is a pizza but on the box it’s says “This pizza isn’t a pizza anymore, we are now calling this pizza a burger even though it’s still a pizza. Also, we are now taking the pizza away before you can eat it but you can have it back if you pay for it again”
-
Ahhh you just hate the restaurant analogy. He’s absolutely correct.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 10/31/2022 10:48:52 PMYou seem to be arguing with several people that are telling you the same thing. Maybe step back to gain sone perspective buddy.

Dude quit badgering me now, you are becoming obsessive. I merely pointed out you have zero qualifications to question anyones mental health and you turned into some weird stalker lol go chill out with some of that candy you are handing out.

Lol you get your hat handed to you now you want to call responses to your comments pointed at me as badgering. Thanks for playing and enjoy the mute troll.
Thanks for playing and enjoy the mute troll.
I dunno man, try looking in a mirror?

Nah. He pretty much has you pegged.

No. You went to a cafe that used to serve pizza and burgers. But the restaurant came under new management one day, and said that they were going to become a pizzeria and burgers were being taken off the menu. Instead of finding somewhere else to eat, people keep coming each day and demanding burgers be served. Thinking if they just voiced their unhappiness loudly enough they could pressure the management to change their minds. Yet we’re three years into this power-struggle, and the management isn’t budging. Nore do they have to. The restaurant is doing well, and is about to turn their pizza into a food you fan get at other venues. Pick your battles carefully. They should be big enough to matter, but small enough to win.
-
Well I’m sure it will be amazing when the new management actually turn it into a pizzeria instead of selling burgers with a label saying pizza on them 🤣

Edited by TheArtist: 10/31/2022 9:30:42 PMIf you don’t like it, you’re free to eat somewhere else….no one is forcing you to come here.

I do eat elsewhere thanks.

Then why are you here? I don’t show up at restaurants that I don’t like to trash talk the food and the service.
