This post of your’s is well articulated. What you need to understand is that the players care more about the game than the Developer does.
Destiny the franchise is 8+ yrs old.
Bungie has adopted a Business Model that focus on providing minimal new content for maximum profit.
As a result the game has basically regressed where reissue, reuse and reskin and then hype as new is what’s been occurring.
Many think Bungie is focusing on another game and just using Destiny as a cash cow to help offset Development cost.
Who knows. However I hope this helps with your perspective.
Many think Bungie is focusing on another game and just using Destiny as a cash cow to help offset Development cost.
When the articles show bungie in that light and the reality that the game feels abandoned and focused more on squeezing money with minimal effort, that thought is more or less justified and there are proofs to back up that thought

Never has truth been spoken so correctly 👏

Do a side by side comparison of all the content you get in a year in the current seasonal model vs the year of Taken King… seriously, analyze… -number of weapons (armor) -number of activities (raids, playlist, etc.) -lore stories (campaign, exotic missions, etc) -sandbox updates It’s not even close.

Edited by Asylum: 11/1/2022 2:34:52 PMQuanity VS Quality. Everything you mentioned was quality in D1, in D2 its quantity therefore its immediately garbage. 95% of the "new" weapons and armor are nothing but material fodder, scrap.

Rose-colored glasses… the Quality vs. Quantity argument is nostalgia forming your opinion. -Prison of Elders is basically the same activity as the Sundial, Ketchcrash or any number of other matchmade seasonal activities currently or in the past. - Crota raid has been maligned as a glorified dungeon of a raid. - Taken King had Court of Oryx (a patrol activity is quality?) and …. A good raid in Kingsfall? And I’m not saying the content in D1 was bad… but people have got to let go of this narrative that D1 was a better game than D2 is now. It wasn’t… it was just new to you and a first experience. Those are hard if not impossible to replicate.

Which means you didn’t do the comparison… which on this forum is par for the course.
Which means you didn’t do the comparison… which on this forum is par for the course.
Um no and neither did you, because the Destiny Wiki is so bad it doesn’t tell you accurately how much stuff was added with Taken King, as well calculating how much is added yearly with seasonal models (also you are saying the seasonal model which the big yearly drops aren’t a part of) Off the top of my head Taken King wins by a longshot but if you add the yearly expansion then you probably get pretty close to a tie. Exotics, wise Taken King wins and for activites wise the seasonal model wins out. Quality wise Taken King wins.

I would put up the content of Beyond Light (what some consider to be a ‘smaller’ expansion and it’s seasons up against The Dark Below, House of Wolves and Taken King combined in D1. The only place it would seem to favor Taken King is Crucible content. And my point was that you didn’t seem to even try to do the comparison… rose colored glasses for the past just took over.
