All base melees have the same range and speed.
A Hunters knife vs a Hunters Fist is certainly not the same range.
And we definitely do not have the same melee range exotics. But yes, the speed is the same.
Lunge distance and hit attraction are identical between classes for the base melee. No longer is there “t-Rex arms” (titan) or a slower melee (warlock). Exotics are the only thing that modify base melee.

It’s exactly the same range. Only way you’ll have a different range is if you use deadly reach, which is part of the lethal current aspect now. Middle tree void also used to have something that increased your melee range. That did not get converted to void 3.0 as far as I know.
Warlocks chain lightning melee is bugged though, sometimes you base melee an enemy and it costs a melee charge. It happens when they are just out of reach so you dont 'track' them, but then they still get hit by the base melee.
