Sounds like this game is too hardcore for you now. What do you think Bungies prime demographic is for this game? I'm assuming 14-25 year olds, people still in school or before they have a family and a career. I'm in my mid 40s. I think it's fine if they direct the game towards the hardcore crowd. If they made the game for casuals, the game would be too easy. Maybe find a casual game that fits your needs?

I hear you. And maybe it has trended that way. I'm simply making a suggestion that in my mind makes sense. Why not have an algorithm that helps pinnacles land in slots that makes sense rather than multiple repeats? The "hardcore" gamers aren't going to stop just because they maxed out right? But they might lose less of the people in similar spots as me and cause less frustration. I'm open to being wrong but it feels like a decent suggestion. To be transparent - I am not hating on the game or Bungie like a lot of people do. Just trying to help.

The hard core players would leave the game if it's too easy. I don't think it's been trending that way. It's always been hardcore, but they've actually made the game easier over time. We can get to max light these days, you're a vanilla D1 player, so you remember forever 29? Back when the only way to get to max light was the raid? That seems much more hardcore vs doing 3 strikes or 3 gambit matches.
