Hi there!
Have you tried muting the affected players in game and then unmuting them?
Also, I do not recommend disabling Cross Save to resolve or troubleshoot any issues.

yup! muting and unmuting them multiple times to see if it changes any result. Im currently in the process of hooking up my OLD ps4 to see if anything settings wise is "stuck" there.

And have you asked them (using the text chat) to mute you and unmute you? Is there a speaker icon next to your name when you are sitting in orbit?

yeah, a speaker icon next to my name, and it shows me talking. Then talking to the person in the fireteam be it through chat or messenger, they can hear me. But I can't hear them.
