SBMM is too sweaty for causals

“Get good” I don’t want to. I’m a causal. I like to play the game for fun and after my kids go to sleep. My whole life is “Sweaty” my gaming experience needs to match my medical card = Chill. I honestly don’t believe most of these “SBMM is so great for us lower players” posts. Have to be bots. I’m a straight 1.0 K/D kinda guy and Crucible is not fun for me right now. Sweat fest. Even more sweaty than Halo which is wrong. I guess from my filthy causal perspective WHY IS SBMM A THING IN CAUSAL PVP??? Isn’t there more competition game modes than BTB Destiny??? Makes no sense. Put SBMM in Trials or something why is it in a causal matchmaking playlist?

  • If you just want casual, why does it matter if its CBMM or SBMM you will play with what you have and have no competitive spirit in your entire body.. but, you play just to shoot your gun and have fun.. Did you really love CBMM so much that you want it back? was it that much better to face players vastly superior and inferior to yourself each match? THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CASUAL PVP PLAYLISTS. If you keep score, it is competitive and if you don't like that, stick to anything but, pvp.

    • It's not a Casual mode anymore, by Definition of SBMM, it's Competitive 6v6.

      • I do pretty friggin terrible in both sbmm and cbmm, so I don’t really care (or mind more or less) about the cbmm vs sbmm debate. It’s also a reason why I’ve never played a single trials game.

      • If competition isn't for you.. play pve. Honestly, cbmm put you at a disadvantage where sbmm puts you with people in your skill bracket and you are on equal footing. Competition isn't for the faint of heart.

      • Casuals can play other casuals with sbmm And sweats can play against sweats with sbmm Balanced as all things should be

      • My guy, you're playing casuals if you're a casual... If you're too casual to play with a casual, there is no helping that...there really isn't.

      • I thought the whole point of it was so potato sacks could match with other potato sacks, and sweats would match against other sweats, and the potato sacks would be saved from getting stomped into mashed potatoes?

      • Agreed, sbmm has no place whatsoever in casual pvp modes

        • Unless you are in a Private match PvP should never be "chill", it should be competitive. You should always face opponents that are within a reasonable range above and below your skill level. Remember, that in order for one player to have a chill PvP experience means that it will be sweaty for others. If people want a "chill" gaming experience then I would suggest running Vanguard Ops or going on patrol. The ONLY concerns I can agree with in regards to the new Loose SBMM system is longer queue times and connection quality (players quitting is NOT a true matchmaking issue). HOPEFULLY Bungie will be able to dial in the matchmaking settings in order to provide a "best of both worlds" experience, but only time will tell.

That’s nothing, my kd is 1.54 overall which apparently is top 3.7%! Imagine the players I’m constantly being put against 😂 just gonna join the demographic that bungo are catering for now and grab my pinnacle after 3 matches at the start of seasons and then dip. Worst thing is I started off in this game as a 0.70kd players and worked at it to improve, something this entitled community seems immune to want to do. And now I’m being punished for taking the time to “get good”. And I haven’t even gone into the lag and latency that’s abundant in pvp, as it always is with sbmm.

CBMM is much worse than SBMM when it comes to balancing teams. CBMM will put you against anybody and I mean anybody. You could have games where you face players less skilled than you and then the next matches you get tryhards.

                • You have to understand you see your self as a casual, but if you’re honestly sitting at a 1.0 kd you’re above a causal and sbmm is here for ppl like you so you don’t match the avrg player. You are slightly above avrg.. the avrg kd in destiny is a 0.86 so nrmly you would win a lot of the match against these avrg players. So srry to say but welcome to the sbmm sucks for me club. If you where slightly worse you might enjoy it

                  • Sbmm is in control only (and survival). Considering that your kd in control (0.8) is 2x as high as your other playlists, that means sbmm is good for you

                    • Call bullshit. If you’re what you are claiming to be, you’d be seeing less sweaty matches than before. Not more. The math doesn’t support what you’re claiming.

                      • I’ve played primarily Survival for several seasons straight now, and that’s had SBMM for longer than I can remember. I don’t see what your point is, I can -blam!- around trying out new guns and builds with relative ease. If I lose while messing around like that, I’m not gonna complain about it lol If I wanna win, I’ll try. Otherwise, I just chill and have fun.

                      • Welcome to SBMM where anyone who actually enjoys playing pvp gets pushed out of the list while those who barely play get free reign. Bungie made pvp players hate pvp. SMH

                      • Bungie just made a post saying they’ve made some adjustments to their sbmm system by lowering allowable latency thresholds for matchmaking, and also allowed a wider skill range to match-make sooner. Kinda what I figured they’d try, at first.

                        • The people who enjoy sbmm are 0.7-0.9 playing people 0.5kds and below. Every single post you check their games and they are just stomping people with below a 0.5kd.
