Is it possible to join the community without joining a clan. I have a clan but they are not fans of PVP and I would love some friendly guardians to run crucible regularly with.

Absolutely, you can be part of the community without being in a clan. It is not required to join, but you have to follow server rules (e.g. in regards to not poach members)
