I think the better option is to set grandmasters to the power floor, but then cap you at 25 below that, boom, GMs are accessible day 1 and still as difficult as they are now.

That means there's just not enough content for the price tag if nobody playing at week 2

Yeah, it's not like there are going to be plenty of people who don't get God roll adepts they're looking for on week 1 or need to farm ascendant shards a few weeks into the season.
