PSA: To complete Empty Grief challenge don't use scythe relic
See title. Challenge won't count if you use the scythe.

Also. Don’t use any weapons that have the firefly perk on them. The solar explosion from firefly will cause the triumph to not proc.

Thank you! I didn’t have a problem with the first seasonal challenge (using only solar), but couldn’t figure out this one. I’m so glad I saw this post before trying again.

It is mind blowing that Bungie still don't tell us EXACTLY what they want from us with the rings and challenges. Why leave it vague or leave tiny little loopholes like that!? The scythe isn't even a weapon, its a relic ffs.

agreed, can confirm. I did the run early this morning & it didn't count, because I used the scythe. I went in this evening, (void lock + krait + enigma + razors edge) and cake walked it, didn't use the scythe and it totes worked =)

OH, and I used my Striga, Calus mini WITH incandecent......and rocket launcher.....dunno why I had such good luck....

Looks like instead of being a check of what you have equipped, it's what elements your kills were. Probably to keep from people who would equip the right stuff right before the mission ended, but it would be nice if the wording specified that. Yeah I realized this in my second attempt. At first I thought it was because I swapped between two void weapons in my energy slot. But then when Eris called out the scythe in the boss encounter again I was like “oh, that was maybe it” and I just didn’t use it on my second attempt Popped for me with no issue then. Good looking out for people though.

Using the Void subclass was easier than the Solar subclass. [b]Loadout:[/b] [b]Krait [/b]with Subsistence. When you have to shoot just stand and shoot. The enemies rush and die. I used this weapon several times last season to clear lost sectors. [b]Hollow Denial[/b]. Spam the trigger for minor enemies. Hold the trigger to take down solar shields. [b]Bad Omens[/b] with tracking. Even with a Major Spec mod the high velocity killed the boss. I never used my super.
