My series x fan runs faster also heat on the console is higher than usual but not to the point to be concerned this eventually generate more noise than usual due to the fan speed.
From time to time the game randomly closes but no overheating message appears… Do you get an overheating message when this happen to you?

I do get the overheating message upon restart every time this happens. I had already followed everything on the "well ventilated" list, so there wasn't much more to do. If I'm playing other games (from last year), or using apps, the fan is mostly quiet and I get no issues. I fire up Destiny 2 after the Season of the Haunted started and suddenly after a while (usually about an hour), the Xbox just shuts off. Considering it doesn't happen with apps or other games, I can only guess it's a software issue. I read somewhere some people were having similar problems with CoD, so maybe it's something in the newer game engines or updates. Who knows, or it might be a combo of the newer software and the "older" hardware considering I've had the Series X since launch. As it doesn't happen with other games or apps, it shouldn't be, but one never knows.
