Got the exact same issue. Either Weasel once I get in the character screen, or Marionberry when I get past the Start screen.
Seeing how there have been reported issues for the last few days on all platforms and other online games do not have connection issues, Bungie is having server problems. Again.

I am having this exact issue. It started Thursday and as soon as I select which character I get weasel and cannot connect. Everything was working fine Wednesday. Nothing has changed on my side.
