Literally just started gearing my warlock for this season this week and even I can tell how easy to use and strong this ability is.
Goes around corners and over terrain. I haven't had it get hung up once

Your "point" is anecdotal with next to zero experience on the subject, making it a presumption, not a valid point. And it's only "powerful" in PvE or against idiots in crucible - don't stand still and it will do a grand total of about 22 damage to you. Or just shoot it a couple of times. It's weaker than Bleak Watcher in every respect. TL;DR - you're wrong.
