I wouldn’t go to that extreme to say it means nothing, but it doesn’t give you a full picture. Just like w/l alone doesn’t tell a full story.
Imagine a person with a 2.0 k/d, but a 33% w/l rate.
Now imagine a player with a 66% w/l rate, but a .5 k/d.
What kind of things go through your mind? Is the first player very selfish, only looks out for their own k/d? Are they mostly matched with people who go negative and die quickly, leaving them in 1v3 scenarios where they’re able to kill at least 2 every time?
The second person, do they get carried a lot, always playing with team mates of much higher skill? Are they the bait that draws out an enemy, and they’re basically the sacrificial kill so the rest of the team can clean up, and it is a VERY successful strategy?
Not that those are the only stories those kinds of stats can tell. But shows how stats alone are not always a complete picture.
100% Agree. K/D means absolutely NOTHING!
No, it definitely does. Played a 2.0 something in trials yesterday and he was quite a bit harder to fight against than the 1.0 on his team. I knew that would be the case before I even fight them. Almost like the KD was a hint or something.
