I’m a 3rd Dan at Shotokan karate and I’ve been doing it all my life.
There’s nothing I love more than sparring someone who’s brand new and kicking the -blam!- out of them then tea bagging them on the floor.
Makes me feel great.
I don’t like fighting someone at my level. It’s hard,
and they might win.
Edit: please…killll meeeeee.

Edited by Stari: 4/20/2022 12:04:57 PMThe most of us know what happens in Destiny, when there's SBMM: more lag and bullets not doing damage. So why are people actually asking for this? Do you know what SBMM in Destiny 2022 is? An algorithm that will make you have a 1.0 k/d and 50% win rate (roughly). So you will make kills in a match and suddenly your weapon will block and the enemy will become Gods, only to make that 1.0 k/d and 50% win-ratio. Your skill control will be in "SBMM's" hands ;) We only need "Fair" servers, so everyones bullets will do the same damage and players will see each other on time. Because i'm convinced that the most Destiny players have skills and can give headshots. And not like now: Players with 10K hours of Destiny can't even make one kill in Trials. And some Trials players who come online 4 hours a week are "Gods". I refuse to believe this, because I play this game for too long and too much ;)

Yeah Johnny! Put him in a body bag!

Im with you. I enjoyed being in my elementary schools basketball team and playing for a College trophy while avoiding all the college teams. It was so fun. I also enjoy sparring in my mma gym against similar skilled opponents for the middle weight championship belt 😁

1 ReplyYou must suck at pvp

No skill based matchmaking in the English FA cup and that’s one of the most prestigious and watched tournaments in sport.

Sounds like your club needs to learn the difference between sparring and fighting.

1 ReplyBeen a 3rd Dan for 8 years. All the other 3rd dans from 8 years ago have progressed to new ranks. But I still want players on my level or below to practice against indefinitely. I never progress and expect to have either fighters as stagnant as myself to beat on, or that are completey new. That way, I can have a false sense that I won at something.
-
10 RepliesI'm with you. In high school, I went to the elementary school to play football. I ran right over and through them little kids. They couldn't stop me. It was awesome.
-
4 RepliesMan I remember back when I did karate they emphasized life lessons life self-improvement and earning your successes rather than waiting for life to give them to you. But hey I guess for some people it was never about more than just punching and kicking.
-
18 RepliesThe raids are too hard for me. Can bungie introduce easier mechanics so i can get some raid loot? Yeah, doesn't make sense does it?
-
10 RepliesIt really makes me mad at how there is no sbmm in my sport swimming, so what? I have to compete and be good to win, I should only have to play against people worse than me so I can win every meet.
see how stupid that sounds
-
Should you get the same reward for facing a 3rd Dan belt holder in a tournament as a white belt holder would facing a white belt in a sparring?
-
Just make an LFG post saying only .5 kda and lower can join and have a private match 🤷🏽✌🏽
-
6 RepliesOnly scrubs agree to this post. SBMM does not belong in quickplay. Elimination and Comp already has SBMM. Go play those if you want sbmm so bad.
-
84 RepliesNo skill based matchmaking in any sports I watch.

Great analogy except that a karate dojo is a place where you paid money to get taught karate, as opposed to crucible/pvp which is a competition. At a karate tournament, you wont see sbmm.
-
You probably only get to spar once or twice a week with how long the queue times are though
-
I joined this club years ago. I refuse to ever spar against anyone older, stronger, or more experienced than me. In fact, I think the club needs to make a rule that people can only spar against other people when they have a 50/50 shot at winning. Doesn't matter if it's a competition, or just a quick casual spar. No exceptions. What am I going to do, spar against better fighters until I improve? Yeah right! So what if I have to sit around waiting for bad fighters to join for a spar? So what if the experienced paying members are punished and can only spar each other over and over again. Sure, we've both been at this dojo for years, but screw them for improving more than me over that time. I don't like fighting someone at all above my level, it's hard, and I might lose.

11 RepliesI got the perfect FIX for this... NERF FUSION RIFLES! My work is done here. (runs off stage)
-
For sure, Definitely a good analogy. Karate is absolutely the same thing as a wildly unbalanced pve focused 1st person shooter and sbmm should be added right away.
-
21 RepliesI like the funny. In reality, who here complains about comp? Anyone? I never see post that say comp sucks get rid of it’s sbmm. Yet when iron banner and trials comes along, you always see posts about match making. Those against it are the ones who don’t go into comp because they’d rather go into other modes to farm kd and pubstomp instead of playing something that’s balanced. I say bring back sbmm or try them both out and see which one gets more traction. I guarantee it will be sbmm. Lucky will be crying if they introduce sbmm
-
I think the SBMM in destiny is definitely more palatable than anything COD has right now

Season of the dawn had all time low numbers. But that was because of sun setting. We know it was because of sunsetting because Feb 26th the numbers more than doubled. (The day after sun setting was declared revoked) Meanwhile season of the worthy. Regarded as one of the most boring and worse seasons since CoS had 700K players average 2 months into the season. And we still had to deal with sunsetting to a degree. That’s 7 months after shadowkeep. We are 2 and a half months into a brand new dlc and we have worse numbers. I lost 13 games in a row the other day and someone ended with a 37.0 on the enemy team. But hey at least I always ended top of the leader board. 🙄 Games a joke.

1 ReplyThis is -blam!- hilarious but what’s even better are the people taking this literal.
