This would likely be abused, but i do agree SOMETHING needs to be done. I went flawless this week in freelance and the amount of players that left or gave up was -blam!-. I think something should be done to further punish players for leaving a match, a penalty that would affect the gameplay would be much more effective in preventing abuse. Id say it should be set up to lower your light cap for the activity each time you leave a match.
For example: leave a match, you get a screen that says something like “you left early, light cap lowered by 5 for future matches this weekend” and i think if you leave 3 times you should be locked out of trials for the weekend
It makes no sense that people can screw over their team like they can in freelance. Either you’re good enough to win, or you reset like a regular person and hope for the best on the next card

Wouldn't it be hilarious if you left a match you would get a shithead tittle above your name. People would see in the tower and message you hey shithead you like leaving matches.

Bruh if you lower the light of the quitting player then you just make him more of an issue for his teammates.

Ahh yea thats a valid point, but still a slap on the wrist 30 minute time out like whats in place now isnt enough, there needs to be something in place to affect the player in their further matches for leaving. Maybe something that affects their future card/s. But the 3 game lockout should totally be a thing to me.

So you're on a flawless game, getting absolutely spanked and a team mate leaves, thus saving your game. How many times could that scenario occur, before you had an easier team to play against...

Well i think the abuse part of 1 person leaving so the others dont get the loss is a very possible issue. I think the problem as of now is that a 30 minute timeout doesn’t discourage a player enough from just rage quitting. But the matchmaking process itself is what i think makes it all such a mess too. They need to bring back Elo matchmaking. Comp is supposed to be similar skill matchmaking, but elo worked much better for D1 as you didn’t have nearly as many complaints as now. You win? Elo goes up, you lose? Elo goes down. If you play good enough long enough, you’ll play harder players, you have trouble long enough, you get a break. And if your elo is running on pure carry and luck, it’ll only last so long
