Tired of being pressured
Am I the only person out here who hates discord and is tired of feeling pressured to join discord to join a stupid clan

Why do you want to be in a clan if you don't want to coordinate with them? Free engrams? That's an interesting outlook.

Edited by Bieltan: 4/4/2022 2:02:13 PMIts honestly very simple - Discord is one of the best ways for a large clan to organise itself and prevent clicqueyness (which still happens but it is what it is). Smaller, more personal clans? They dont need it. The app will suffice.

We ran everything through discord simply because it’s the most effective way to communicate between a clan of 100+ people. And voice chat is no problem at least on pc. It was more about building a community over playing the game so our requirements were all based around discord activity. Most community clans are the same. It’s just the way it is IcyHotTodoroki said it best and I don’t know why you’re insulting everyone who is just telling you why discord is good

3 RepliesI don't have time to play a game & screw with a voice app that isn't tied directly to the game at the same time. Discord kills my phone battery & divides guilds/clans that require usage from those that can't/won't use it. The instant I see "Discord required" I stop looking & continue on my way. I used to be in a guild that, once they started using Discord, proceeded to ignore & ostracize everyone they used to play regularly with just because they didn't use it. No thanks, I'll pass.

2 RepliesThe clan I'm in is just for engrams, it'll get you the 7 cores each week. Never spoke to anyone. It's open, just click my profile, then clan, then join. The leader quit years ago n it just kinda rolls along. Perfect for someone just minding his own business ;)

If it’s a multi platform clan, discord does make it easier since not everyone uses the Bungie app. Bungie does need to make changes to the clan system nonetheless.

If some of the basics were baked into the app or bungie.net people wouldn't be as insistent on it. Have clans even gotten a quality of life update since 2017?

Instead of crying, you could create your own clan and put in big neon words "no discord needed here".

Join my clan and be a freeloader like me. No requirements whatsoever yet 4 engrams are available every week, just google the clan and join a sub-group that has an open slot.
