Bungie Whats your deal on these exotic catalyst quests? (Vow)
400 strikes, gambits or crucibles + 400 kills for Eriana’s Vow catalyst?
You f’ing with the player base or what with these stupid requirements.

Yeah, if you didn't play back in the day or took your time, it's 400. For is that played when it was new, it was only 100.... I guess that's what they mean by FOMO.

Just because you don't like the requirements does not mean the game is broken. Its a passive grind any ways, just keep the gun in you inventory (not even equipped) and it will finish in the back ground.

Last year I started the Cat quest for Eriana's Vow and it took me from Season of the Undying all the way to the end of Season of Arrivals, so almost half a year or more. It was grindy, but you were supposed to work on its catalyst in the season it was released with for extra boosters to make the grind shorter. I wasn't playing for the catalyst, I needed a decent PVP/comp gun as I was working on pinnacle-gun PVP quests at the time. Have fun and good luck, I would say that the grind is worth it as it gives it 9 rounds to the mag instead of 6.

Seriously tho, why make a lengthy quest to [i]unlock[/i] the catalyst for the weapon, just for you to [i]grind[/i] the weapon for kills to use the masterwork

What amazes me is the amount of crucible required for some of the catalysts.

In my opinion it’s a really bad design decision, and it’s definitely one of those things that only exists to keep people playing for extended periods of time when the new activities weren’t enough to keep people playing consistently. Of course, a year later, you’re able to purchase old exotics, meaning that players new and returning can obtain these once season exclusive exotics. Yet the quests were never changed, and players are expected to complete an absurd amount of activities to complete them without any way to speed it up.

2 RepliesFirst of all, there’s nothing to fix as this is intended. Second, this quest came out two years ago. At the time there was a buff on the seasonal track that made it go faster. Nowadays I think you’re supposed to do it passively. But I wouldn’t be opposed to having the requirements go down, say to 150?

2 RepliesRun strikes for a little bit and just go for the basic kills. The f you like the gun enough to masterwork this shouldn’t be an issue. The rest just takes time. People complaining about a little grind is a joke. Especially when the majority is just passive.

I just played the game, and payed no attention to the catalist. Then it fills up anyways. Malfeasance is a dif story, 4 guardian kills in Gambit etc. But most fill up by just playi g the game, doing the things you like.

Yeah, Eriana's is just plain tedious for anyone that didn't finish it during Undying. Can't even boost it somewhat like the rest anymore since it only got additional progress from Gambit Prime.

1 ReplyThere was a booster in the Season Pass in the season that Eriana's Vow was added. It gave 4x progression. It's the same with Witherhoard. Without the booster you'll only get 0.25% progression with each activity.
