A reminder that there is actually no time limit in Legendary Lost Sectors
Each season new players come into Destiny so I thought I'd mention this because it's not obvious when you first try Legendary Lost Sectors.
While some people can clear Legendary Lost Sectors in mere minutes, many others struggle. If you're one of these players it's good to know that you can actually take as much time as you like clearing one.
The big caveat is that you won't resurrect if you die after 15 minutes no matter how many revives you have banked and then it will be over. So if you're careful and don't die you can complete it.
Some people say you get better rewards if you clear one fast but I've never seen that. I usually clear one in 7-8 minutes (I'm a very average player) but some of my best Exotic drops came after struggling over the time limit to finish.
So take Legendary Lost Sectors at your own pace to get the rewards. Cheers all.

Edited by gnxx: 10/10/2022 9:26:14 PMI agree , I don’t think there’s a true drop rate you can say that’s 1 in 20 or 1 in 4 , as I normally get one in either the first 2-3 runs ,then I quit after getting my exotic and moving on to either another character or look for another pinnacle event to do if I’ve not done the 5-6 easy ones available each week per character..but I’m glad to know that you can farm for different exotics because I used to think each legendary lost sector cave a particular exotic, didn’t know you could farm for different ones..it’s weird as a couple of my friends always seem to get the same exotic for the same character once we completed the run enough times, and I recall reading posts claiming that certain exotics “drop this week on this weeks lost sector” ? ..so it may be that it’s referring to the first drop ,? Not sure..wonder how much truth there is to that, as it’s been posted on quite a few major video gaming forms and websites..

Silly me, I had to look this up on google, so thank you for the post. I have to say the original post was correct, there is not time limit. However the rewards might suck the longer you take. I beat my first lost sector today after about 10 attempts (solo), but with a terrible timing. My time ran to about 53 minutes, and all I got was a stupid Enhancement Core. If you’re not consistent with your kills, your overall score starts to drop and might have an affect of your rewards.

There's a lot of little thing like this that players don't know 1 of my favourite thing most peoples don't know about is the arcstrider combo...do 2 light attack and 1 heavy for massive damage

4 RepliesHoly -blam!-. I love you. How did I not know this. As a veteran of 7 yrs I feel so stupid. I just got annoyed with anything with a time limit and quit doing them because it simply wasn’t fun. Why is it a person on the forums has to tell us this. Maybe I am stupid but the couple times I did them if my time was almost over I just left. Don’t get me wrong I still hate timed events with a passion but this helps a lot. Thank you guardian . You are my hero

1 ReplyAnother reminder once u get the new exotics once, they join the regular exotic pool. So get the exotic and dip and then go to xur or maybe get lucky and u will get them again.

7 RepliesMaybe there is no definitive proof that running a legendary lost sector in 1-4 mins without any deaths grants more rewards. But it is definitely more efficient to do it quicker. As much as I don't wanna be rude, unfortunately there's no point in farming lost sectors if you are using alot of revives and taking say 15mins to complete. The drop rate on a legendary lost sector is bad enough as is. As an example I ran the legendary Aphelions Rest the other day 58 times in a row, with times of anywhere between 2-3mins. In all of those runs I managed to get 5 exotics. 2 of which where in my last 3 runs. So that's an average of 1 exotic every 11.6 runs. But obviously it doesn't work like that. You could do it 20 times and still get nothing but maybe a few enhancement cores and useless legendary gear. IMO.. if you are going to invest atleast 15mins into a single lost sector you might aswell go for a master one. Atleast you are more likely to get a reward worth keeping.

Some of the Sectors I can clear fairly quick and a few I like to take a more cautious approach that takes a while for them. As time moves on for my cautious runs I start watching the timer pretty close. When I see that I only have a couple minutes left before Darkness then I go 'balls out' and get in as much damage as I can possibly do before while most likely getting killed a couple/few times before the timer runs out and no revives are left. I've dropped bosses by doing that a few times and other times I simply get a lot of the adds out of the way. Throwing caution to the wind is a fun way to handle that little window towards the end of the timer before going back to the systematic approach of slowly whittling down the boss or clearing adds from a safe spot.

This is quite true. There were times where I got distracted by real life events, and had to come back 10 minutes later when the time was already expired, then beat it. But you have to be careful. The other day, I killed the Servitor boss in the Moon lost sector, then mopped up all the weak adds I could see. I casually walked to the chest. It turns out there was an Overload Captain hiding next to it. I got annihilated and sent to orbit before I could hold X to open.

When i clear in 1~3 minutes the final chest is just empty, so don't worry about the time, they manipulate every drop in the game.
