The problems with account recoveries are those who give out account details to strangers. Every day we see the results.... Accounts banned for cheating. Characters deleted in a sick joke. Accounts stolen. If you willingly give out details then the risk on on the player even if you know that individual. We have seen all of the above with "friends" who play on another's account. You can do recoveries (and game share also requires sharing details) but know the risks and that Bungie will not help when things go wrong.
