This is just my opinion but Trials and its loot is for everyone. Lighthouse is for the top players. Unfortunately, Bungie has screwed up both of these by having players who can’t reach the Lighthouse only get loot through win milestones and bounties and Flawless players getting the absolute shaft on stingy loot.

If they get to game 3 they have it even harder to get to game 5. For most casuals game 3 loot is the only reward they can get. They can’t get all the loot per week without incredible time commitment or money expenditures and even then it’s not guaranteed 100% . Who has time to spend 8-12 hours playing d2 everyday? Not casuals. The problem is the loot for casuals to earn is too scarce and sometimes locked behind 5-7 wins. trials games give you a shitty amount of tokens so it takes forever to get enough to get one engram that you might hate from saint 14. Casuals have no positive incentive to go in to compete so they jump off the cliffs for 5 games straight for the endgame bounty. That’s why the playlist is filled with tryhards and it feels like easy games are hard to come by for casuals and or average players. Because the casuals are not incentivized to play.
