Everyone on here will tell you that’s the point. Trials is only for the best. But then they stack and beat up on bad teams
Tell me honestly, how many times do the “best” players actually go up against each other in trials?

Frequently…

Use to be a sweat always running the meta and playing nothing but crucible, As a pvp player that carried alot of there friends to legend. I believe anyone can play trials just don't get intimidated I stop caring about the meta and just use what i feel is fun. Also ive been flawless 1 time did it underlight too in season of the worthy only did it because I wanted the emblems and the jackal for my warlock. Ive gilded my unbroken seal twice. I use to be trash and only played pve, Once Not forgotten became I a thing I strived to push myself and get better. My goal was to get the NF I got better each season id come back again and again. Finally in shadow keep it was my time to push for it. I did it. Basically all I'm saying anyone can do it just learn your team's weakness ajd strengths. GOOD LUCK GUARDIANS

It's trials Stacking is the only option

I can only speak to my personal experience, but for me it's easy to get 3 wins, average to slightly above opponents from 3-5 wins, and match 6 and 7 are always very difficult opponents. Just my experience I don't play a lot of trials but I do ok when I actually try. I think the problem for most people that aren't great at pvp often get matched vs good players that are in their first couple of wins on the card, so they get stuck at those first 3 wins and can't get past. If they somehow implemented a bit of sbmm into those early matches, it might help more casual players. I say that and I don't even like sbmm, but I could see it being a positive change at least in those early card matches.
-
Why not just match based on Wins? First round two teams with no wins and on up the ladder with some flexibility in the middle. Final round should then be two teams both at six wins and only one can be flawless. This would both make the earlier rounds more forgiving/inviting and raise the prestige on the top end. Obviously player population would determine how strictly this could be followed.
-
That is how matchmaking works
-
I think that's supposed to be how it is now, but it doesn't always seem to work that way. But yes I agree that would be ideal, the only issue is that you can have your first match on the card vs the best players in the game if they're just starting a card as well.
-
Right - No guarantees or SBMM but the 'Jump off the Map' teams would have a good chance to be matched against each other so some may choose to actually play. : -p Personally, I have gravitated to the comp playlist because it seems to give me fair/challenging matches for my skill level most of the time and is allowing me to gradually/incrementally improve. (Also I don't personally care about having the best weapons as I have a ton of things to practice before that will be the deciding factor in most engagements)

I play the same sweats every weekend.

Edited by NYDIBS: 7/11/2021 1:45:50 PMYour game 6 win was against players with < 0.5 kds for the week You maybe run into 1 or 2 “sweaty” teams per card, if that. That’s why you’re on a 20 game win streak, bc the best players rarely ever go up against other good players Trials in itself is a scam. It’s mostly a bunch of slightly above average players beating up on each other while the best players stack and stomp everyone else
-
that wasn’t a game 6 win lol. I was on a fresh card but we stopped playing. I’m on 20 streak because of good teamwork and I also matched people that were hard cheating and still lost. the people I frequently beat will run over people on these forums. I’m just better.
-
That’s my point though. If trials really was for the best of the best, only the top like 1% would be play. It may even make for some entertaining games The truth is, trials for the most part is not as competitive as people would like to make it seem
-
That’s cause giving flawless rewards to the 1% will drive the player base mad.
-
Edited by NYDIBS: 7/12/2021 10:02:23 PMAs it should. But that’s basically what’s already happening, minus the recovs, carries and cheaters
-
No. The truth is, Trials is for everybody but only the best of the best will go flawless. As stated by Bungie 5-6 years ago. What is sad, is people thinking they deserve rewards, or flawless, just because they play the game.
-
good teams go up against each other every time trials is here, especially the first day trials is available. I don’t see the point you’re trying to make. matching people on a low win card is a 50/50 as my 2nd game was against someone who is a known controller sniper and consistently holds over a 90% headshot. majority of teams are afraid to even play against that.
-
All trials is, is people seeing who gets killed by cheese first. With weapons like bastion, arbalest, fusions in general, GLs and spammed abilities (the broken ones) and supers. Bungie needs to hurry up and cap ability and super Regen.
-
that’s the whole game in general. it has nothing to do with trials.
