Shotguns got nerfed but it's like they didn't? (Console)

Shotguns got nerfed, all good here, but nothing seems to be changed at all at least on console [i](my personal experience is on PS4, dunno how it is on Xbox or PC).[/i] Yesterday and on Tuesday I played few matches in Crucible [i](IR Freelance and Quickplay)[/i] and basically I had the impression that nothing was changed at all when it's about Shotguns. [b]I'm not saying the nerf didn't work (Shotguns range has been decreased, cone angle increased), just that I had the impression that the nerf didn't change anything.[/b] Killfeed was still full of Shotguns kills all the time. People were still running-slinding all around the Maps with Astral Horizon, Fellwinter's Lie and Riiswalker no problem. When I was not Sniping, my 1v1 were mostly me jumping back against some sliding/jumping Shotgun ape with my SMG/Messanger hoping to not die in one shot. I don't know, I had just few matches. Maybe in the next days things are going to change, Shotguns presence will decrease, I can't tell. But for now, after the update it really seemed that nothing was changed at all in the Crucible for me. P.S: Dear Bungie, when you got time, maybe you could also focus on Special Grenade Launchers please? Thanks.

  • Shotguns aren't the problem. Sounds like you just stubbornly refuse to adapt to their presence in the game.

    • Nothing is gonna change in crucible for you until you make an effort to improve. Sorry to say, but a .4 trials kd and .8 overall is the problem, not the guns.

        Back in D1, they took away crit damage, aim assist, and in air accuracy. Shotguns were still meta.

        • That’s because the issue isn’t shotguns exactly, but rather the maps themselves. Way too close range, makes it an easy playstyle.

          • The range on Shotguns was never the problem with them Map design and mobility are the things that make the shotgun very good Taking away range wont do anything…

              It's pretty much a Shotgun & Handcannon PvP game. And I think it always will be unfortunately. The Shot-Punch instant combo is still alive and well. The prime and then instant agressive Shotgun kill still there. Peek shooting two tap kill Handcannon still there - via Killclip. Whether players shift to OTHER archetypes of the same weapons or not is the only realistic change. No real change here, as we've come to expect from the first 3 years.

              • They can nerf shotguns to a half meter and they will still be meta in this game.
