As I said there really isn’t a game that matches Destiny’s gun play currently, even the latest Halo’s and I’m burnt out playing the old ones because I did it for many years. Maybe Infinite may sway me but I think the current Bungie is capable of going back to their roots.
You're wanting bungie to go "back to their roots" which means they'd have to dump every resource they have into making pvp "perfect" by nostalgia seeker standards. Destiny is not a pvp focused game, and it never will be.
I agree Destiny isn't a pvp focused game. It's an additive bonus that comes with the territory of an FPS and the looming cloud that follows Bungie since much of their original fan base came from the Halo franchise. I personally don't believe anyone can meet nostalgia standards of people and meeting those standards is like a revolving door. Also I'm not really looking for nostalgia, part of me yes would find it amazing to see some things of old but honestly I'd just like to see at least some crumbs thrown to PVP instead of it being an after thought. Now I may be completely off base, but PVP hasn't seen a new map in quite some time and I'm sure the shit show that F2P brought with cheats is no easy task and one that should be taken care of first. However I know coming from the Diablo 2 franchise as well, there is no escaping cheats, hacks and bots. They've gotten even more sophisticated from those back then.
All in all, I'd just like to see a map or two and maybe give a game type like CTF a try in like Crucible Labs.
