Are Wyverns Mining Frames?
Now, correct me or not if this has been retconned, but with our previous knowledge of the Vex, the base units are regarded as mining frames. We hear about warrior/combat frames invading Oryx’s throne room because of Crota, and being able to handle Ascendant Hive three to one.
Are Wyverns also considered mining frames? Or are they the start of the combat frames we will (hopefully) be seeing in the future?

2 RepliesBungie needs to add a "Chicken leg apocalypse" modifier to all vex strikes. Just nothing but wyverns. It will be a wholesome good time.

Nothing on Wyverns suggest them being useful for mining, or other known Vex functions like terraforming/conversion, CPU storage/management, and scouting/data movement. They seem to be specialized in combat, specifically support combat (shielding others and being able to launch attackers away).

They were deployed on Europa because of Clovis actively kidnapping Vex units and because instead of a simple conversion their inclusion was as part of an invasion against a militarised force that had been studying them.

No they’re not. They’re a pain in the buttocks. Especially in this weeks nightfall. Champions don’t even kill me as fast as the wyverns.

I mean, you do need to look at something while mining ⛏️. Pretty sure they're there for morale support.

7 RepliesWyverns are the only combat frame, I believe. They're armed with no visible tools for research, only those blasters and that Blam!-ing jump attack. I know that Hydras act as CPUs, and I think Harpies are meant to observe the sky. Minotaurs are builders.
