Bungie only went F2P to promote their game before they gutted the base game and a ton of dlc. The only thing F2P players have now are core modes.
The game is Free-to-play and pay-to-play at the same time.

I blame fortnite.
-
I mean I blame Bungie for following in their steps, but I'm sure they were strapped for cash when they separated from Activision. They're definitely not allocating enough resources into the actual content tho
-
The content amount and quality has gotten better. Its certainly improved over this time last year.
-
Yeah we are getting VoG soon, but they constantly put up in game "holidays" with nothing but bounty farm associated to them. Aside from that new strike we also haven't had new additions to the core modes.
-
Who knows as far as Gambit is concerned but I'm pretty sure Crucible will get something... someday. With the holiday things its one of those "either you like them or you don't" things. They are kind of holiday bounty grinds. And they have to be accessible to pretty much every type of player so you're never going to be getting anything too complicated. Definitely feel like GG is an improvement on last year because I just wasn't doing those bounties last year.
-
Maybe, but it's hard to believe that we will get anything added to the free core modes of the game. As under appreciated as they are they make up the foundation of the game. I hadn't thought of the in game holidays like that. They make a lot more sense now
-
It shouldn't be that hard to believe. Other than the fact that people are having a fit over how the additions should be getting paid for. But there have been signs. This whole time we've been on here whining people have been working. Those people should be commended and they will be soon. I don't think there was even a such thing as nits when I bought this monitor. And now, somehow...
-
Nits?
-
Yes nits. Its one of those silly numbers that they use to sell things. It has something to do with hdr luminescence or something. And ever since the blah blah blah yakkity yak, it looks like my monitor suddenly has nits. Its actually just a lot more luminescent and some more shit. I honestly don't understand how what I have seen transpire over the last few months could even be done through the internet. All kinds of the stuff that you read about where you think you have to buy hardware and then weld it to the rest of your command center then the game is just doing it. Its mind boggling.
-
Yeah. It's easy to forget that they have tons and tons of talented individuals working on the game. I'm sure that for most the game is more than their livelihood, it's a passion.
-
Edited by A_mo: 4/28/2021 1:11:45 PMYeah they do. And some of the things they've been doing over the last few months are going to make it so those peoples' talents can shine through the internet much, much brighter. And clearer. And with much better character movement feel although the game is being greedy with the shot registration. Am I the only one noticing the way the game looks and feels since the last background maintenanceseses? I'm just going to ask.
-
I can't say much on whether or not the performance seems better. I've been on hiatus since a couple weeks into the season. I only came back recently but it wasn't for very long. I'll have to keep an eye out to see if I notice any improvements
-
Yeah, I didn't even want to say anything because its been happening and going away for a few months now. And its like every time it comes back its better looking.. I'm not going to speculate on why I think that is but I assume we will be finding out eventually. Its enough of a change that there's no way they won't say something or take credit for it. Seriously, yesterday I decided that since the game will most likely eventually stay looking this good I could delete twitter off my phone because I can wait until playstations are in the store like a first world country should have these days. That's how much better it looks. I have been freed from Swider Alerts. That's worth other people spending money on transmog all by itself.
