How to get Tier 31, 32, & 33 Armor

Hey every one. If you are interested in having a higher armor stat tier Im sure most of you are already aware of DiM and its optimizer. In general players judge the value of armor based on how many points it rolled. However when one would like to exceed 30 points of stat tiers you no longer should be appraising armor by how many point it has but by how many point is has in one cluster. A cluster for any one new or interested in better stats refers to the number of points divided between the two stat columns. Mobility, resilience, & recovery are often referred to as the "primary stat" while discipline, intellect, and strength are known as the "secondary stat." To put it simply once you are tier 30 plus but struggling to make better sets, just start appraising armor by its cluster not its over all value. You will need it to have atleast a 34 point cluster to get to tier 31. Thats it really, it has a few nuances but you are unlikely to encounter them because you are unlikely to hit the break point of tier 32 and I suggest you stop reading here with the take away you want to look for a 34 point cluster score. Trust me the txt that follows is utterly pointless information to any that does not have all armor exceeding 66 points on average across all slots. EDIT: MODS DO NOT count toward armor tier.
Congratulations, not many guardians exceed tier 31. And not only that, you now want to break the limits and achieve tier 32? or maybe dare I say the mythical 33rd tier? well you were warned above. As a forward I will also include the process for tier 31 armor even though its not that crazy to get, for any one interested in the system or "nuances" I spoke of. Im also going to assume you are fully educated in stat score ranges. aka you know you cant get a hard double 100 to one cluster, maybe with mods but not just from armor value alone. The tier 32 breaking point is when all armor pieces exceed 66 points with atleast one cluster being 34 or greater value. 66 point armor with a 33|33 expression is a dead cluster that can not achieve tier 32. It can be done however with a 33|33 but another armor slot must be 67 points or greater to compensate in addition IT MUST have a cluster with only one possible cluster expression at 67 & two possible cluster expressions with a 68. When these requirements are achieved clusters must be allocations as such: two pieces of armor must allocate their greatest value clusters to one set of stats. The remaining two pieces of armor must allocate their greater value clusters to the the second set of stats. If the greater value clusters are not staggered as such you can not achieve tier 32. "SS+ mythic class" tier 33 armor requires three 68 point pieces of armor & one exotic with 71 points. The three legendarys must have a 38|30 stat cluster with all the 38 point clusters allocated to the same stat column. The exotic must have a 37|34 cluster that allocates the 37 point cluster to the stat column the legendary armor allocated the 30 point clusters to. Tier 31 nuances explained: Tier 31 armor requires armor to have 64 points with a 34|30 cluster. 32|32 and 31|33 are dead clusters that can not achieve tier 31 with out another armor slot compensating. clusters 29|35, 28|36 also work but require they parity each other in expressions such as 4 pieces with 29|35 or higher rolled armor to compensate. You can equip pieces of armor above 64 points to compensate for a "dead cluster" or to compensate for armor pieces below 64 points. However the fall off and requirements becomes very extreme for doing this and is not recommended with any piece being below 63points. As by equipping even once piece of 6o point armor it becoming impossible for any single piece of legendary armor to compensate and requires a 70 point exotic with a 36|34 cluster with zero variation or a 71 point exotic that may have two variations of 36|34 & 37|34. It can be done but with stiff requirements to say the least. With all said prerequisites obtained clusters must be allocated as such: 34s must be allocated to one set of stats such as mobility resilience & recovery while all 30s are allocated to discipline, intellect, & strength. You can mix and match here but one stat column must be allocated 136 points and the second allocated 120points.
• I think you’re overthinking this. One or two extra stat points isn’t going to make you a better player. Good players will still win with 3-4 tiers lower.

        • Fairly certain you can have 36 or more. Take for example you get 60 rolled gear with 10 in every slot. That’s 4 armor pieces with 12 in each stat, when masterworked. So 48 each stat. Add class item masterworked, 50 each stat. Magically you are now tier 30. Add five for your plus ones mods. 35 Don’t forget your plus 2’s on mobility and strength from powerful friends and whatever the strength one is. Without any extravagant gear or spikey distribution you can have tier 39 gear.
