The knight, John Watson, happens to be walking by these dock at this hour and takes note of the ship. It is hard to tell if he is patrolling the streets or simply going on a jog, for he had donned a chain hauberk under a white surcoat decorated with a golden effigy of a dragon in the center of it as well as a bowler hat. He carries a Roman designed scabbard on his hip, but carries no other weapons, nor does he seem in the mood to use any.

[spoiler]Chain 2[/spoiler] Melinoe attempts to kick you to the ground rolling a 28, then reaches out towards Holmes to recall the sword!

That is even enough to send me to the ground with a loud thud! I will attempt to grapple her once again from the ground to stop he from getting the sword. For this check I get a 29, also I’ll throw in a solid headbutt as I rise to me feet to distract her, 17 to hit for 8 damage.

She dodges the headbutt and you bounce off her shoulder but the combined attacks from everyone breaks her focus long enough for Holmes to leap through the portal with the sword and it closes behind him!

He steps back, a bit embarrassed at the failed attack but signs in relief that Sherlock at least got through. “Now you have no portal and a lot more of us attacking you, it’s best you surrender now.” He keeps attacking, however, striking non lethally with his fists, on the last of the three attacks he will try to trip her. I rolled a nat 20, a 14, and a 9 to hit, for 12 damage and I’m pretty sure the other two moss.

She drops to her knees and the remaining Nightmare wiggles it's back, preparing to pounce!

Unsure if the nightmare is still on his side, he shall wait and hold his action. If it pounces at his allies or himself then he shall jab at it, 21 to hit for 12 slashing damage and 13 radiant damage. However if it attempts to grapple melinoe, he will try to help by grappling her himself, 25 to that.

Geo wounds it and the Nightmare looks around at the gathered heroes then turns to flee!

Watson will not give chase after the creature, believing blaze and geo fully capable of handling it, and he lacks ranger weapons on him anyways. He would rather stay and make sure their larger enemy doesn’t escape. “So, what’s on the other side of that portal of yours?”

"It leads to the witches realm, the Nowhere."

“Ahh, so it is as I though. I’ve been there once, it was a lovely place even if there was some apocalyptic event going on. Great for a vacation or a banishment. So, why are you here, drawing upon that cursed land to summon these most befouled creatures?”

"Because the one who made me caused that apocalyptic event, and I mean to kill it and all connected to it to prevent another, worse event."

“Another one? That is outrageous, i fought through many so called apocalyptic situations and none of them can rival the one simply known as the apocalypse. The city was destroyed, thrown into chaos, my best friend lost a head in the game by my own hands and I even came into contact and fought for my life against almost all of its four leaders. If there is truly another one on its way, this is not the best way to go about stopping it if that even is your true goal.”

"I'd consider killing those responsible to be a good start, but to each their own. I didn't expect the witch to save my sister, and to be fair I made that portal to escape through, not to unleash Nightmares. Now you gonna toss me in a cell or what?"

“Yeah... I likely will. However if you do know that something big is on the way I would like to know about it. Perhaps your information or physical help if deemed necessary can help stop whatever is to come.”

"I don't know the details, it uses new faces and forces each time it claims a host."

“And is there any place open might go to find more information about this thing? Or do you know any of its former hosts.”

"I'd say the witches mansion, but it's seen better days. Her and her daughters are the only hosts I know of. Bound to her blood, kill them and we prevent it."

Further down the docks you hear fighting as a cloud of bats swarm the dock and Scylla and Nil appear beside the ship!

He sighs to himself, “Every time... every time I come down here someone is trying to kill someone else! It seems as this place is cursed. Actually every time I go anywhere really.” He will put a hand in his scabbard and rush forwards up to Nil so that he may learn what is going on.

Scylla is angrily barking orders at her crew while Nil keeps watch. [spoiler]You and Geo arrived at the same time if you'd like to take the conversation bit there.[/spoiler]

He will nod his head to nil and not really say anything yet, rather he will observe to see who is doing the actual fighting whilst he draws his sword, Excalibur.

From down the pier you hear gunfire aswell as the familiar scream if a Nightmare!

“I’ve heard that sound before, that can’t be good.” He shall make Excalibur shine with the light of thirty or so torches and head towards the sounds of the nightmares. He takes off his hat and pulls a trigger inside it, activating a magical enchantment that turns it into a shield slightly larger then a buckler.

As you arrive you find Holmes standing over a restrained Melinoe and a portal not far from them.

He will check to see if she is properly restrained and poses no real threat before investigating the portal.
