When I hold “X” on the item, nothing happens or appears on the screen. It does this with all 3 characters. It does this on the Xbox one and Series S. I’m assuming it’s a Bungie network issue. But I don’t know

are you not able to pick up the item? if so then that's a bit of an issue because you need it to go to your inventory in order to trigger zavala to have the quest for you

I’m able to collect the item but the game doesn’t acknowledge it

hmm. that's strange, were you disconnected from the game before or after you picked up the item? that might cause the game to not recognize that you picked it up. you could try to re-run the strike, get the item again if you can, then check. the only other option i can think of is to try to get the quest on a different character (not sure if it's account wide) if its not account wide, then you might have to DO the quest on a different character.
