The energy slot is overcrowded this season.
We have so many fantastic and fun energy primary weapons this season yet I can't use them because all of the current kinetic special weapons we can use suck or just don't exist, to begin with.
What's sad is I know Bungie purposely did this to rein in our guardian's power in PvE and it irritates me and is an unfun experience.
Either make kinetic primary weapons as good as the ones we have in the energy slot this season or make more kinetic special weapons. It's quite frustrating that we don't have any kinetic fusion rifles or grenade launchers.

My friend and I had this conversation I agree we need more Kinetics but I'm happy with everything this season especially with sunsetting being sunsetted that I have no qualms with a lack of a loot pool for kinetics atm. I guarantee there will be more.

Kinda agree, kinda disagree. There are some good kinetic specials: Heritage, Succession, Blasphemer, Witherhoard, Izanagi's Burden, Long Shadow. (Heritage is arguably the best special weapon in the game right now for PvE.) It does kind of suck that out of those though the two best ones are only available from DSC. I also get why people wouldn't want to run exotics, so if you take those four out, we're basically only left with two. I disagree with the notion that there's no good kinetic primaries though. People are calling the new S13 SMG with Frenzy "Recluse 2.0." If I had to list off some of my favourites, you've got: Extraordinary Rendition, Dire Promise, True Prophecy, Cold Denial, Escape Velocity, Sacred Provenance, High Albedo, and Time Worn Spire (that last one is more a personal pick since it's the only un-sunset 540RPM Pulse in the game and I got FF/Rampage on my first drop.) Anyway, it would be nice to have some more viable kinetic special weapon options for people who don't raid.

1 ReplyAfter Mountaintop I doubt we’ll ever get another kinetic grenade launcher. Bungie doesn’t like us to be powerful. Apparently they think the game isn’t worth playing if we are powerful.

Shadow Price should've been kinetic. That way we would have one kinetic, one energy, and one power weapon from nightfalls.

What I mean is remove the limitations of primaries being subjected via game which slot they belong in and make them able to be use any either or. Imagine if you could use Bottom Dollar or Shadow Price in the kinetic slot and vice versa to any primary.

4 Repliesliterally every nightfall weapon from D1 used to be primary except the LMG. They all got converted to energy weapons for no good reason. I mean, D1 didn't even HAVE energy primaries.
