Normally Araxinus isn’t allowed to be over a mile from the Wolfkeeper so he doesn’t try escaping, but I’ll allow it...

I imagine the wolfkeeper would be nearby, didn't know about that.

The closest reference I can make to it is in His Dark Materials, when daemons try to go too far from their humans, they both feel immense physical pain, except only Araxinus does...
