Although the ideas the great, Icebreaker just isn’t going to be Icebreaker. D1 exotics in the game are just not that good. Icebreaker is either going to be too good and then nerfed into the ground(Sleep and partially Whisper) or just not be good from the start(Mida, Bad Juju, Hardlight, Borealis, etc). In my honest opinion, leave D1 exotics remain in D1 and have them legacy things to us and not watered down, disappointing guns.

You do know borealis is a D2 vanilla exotic and Juju and hardlight are objectively better than their D1 counterparts. Hardlight got the ability to swap to all the light elements and juju got a better damage buff on top of its original perk.

We’ve come along way from what our older sandbox looked like, and I personally enjoy the concept of making old Exotics new again, as a spiritual successor to their former selves. The philosophy of Ice Breaker is about ammo regeneration. That shouldn’t be touched. But the method for acquiring such an ability should be. And what I offer for Destiny 2 is a solution. This fits well into the sandbox without making a huge splash. Also I should mention that we have 3x more NEW exotic weapons, VS old. I don’t mind old, so long as they’re made fresh. Thorn, Hawkmoon, Telesto, Suros Regime, have all been brought back to us as newly appointed guns far better than their respective counterparts in D1.
