Hey, Have you picked up the quests from the tower vendors? I believe you pick up "Spark of Hope" from Zavala, it's only "Veteran" characters that need to grab it from the kiosk. You may need to complete more of the New Light quests to unlock the Quest Archive.

  • Yes I "acquired" any quests that I could from any vendor in the Tower and once I did come upon the Spark of Hope quest from Zavala. I took that quest then it went away, perhaps I abandoned it? Yet I can find no way to "reacquire" that quest and now I seem to be stuck in the story at a point where completion of the Spark of Hope quest is required to go forward in the game. I've queried all the NPC's that offered quests and not found a means of reacquiring any story quest that was abandoned nor any other way to proceed with the storyline. So without access to what you referred to as "the kiosk" my avatar is stuck or seems to be from my point of view. Thank you for responding so quickly.

  • What prompt, if any, are you getting at the Quest Archive? Could you post a screenshot of your quest log, your map of the tower and what you encounter as you approach the Quest Archive. You can upload the images either to an image sharing site like imgur or to twitter, and then just post the links here.

  • Map of Tower https://pasteboard.co/JKCXf95.png Quest Archive https://pasteboard.co/JKCHMt2.png Quest Log https://pasteboard.co/JKD2CSC.png Since my issue with the Quest Archive is that I cannot access it (my first post) nothing happens when I approach the kiosk. This can be seen in the pasteboard link above at Quest Archive.

  • Thanks for the screenshots. Are you able to travel to the EDZ? It's the node directly to the left of the Cosmodrome in the director map. After completing the Guardian Rises campaign, new locations unlock as you gain XP, and the Quest Archive should unlock alongside them. If you're able to travel to the EDZ, do so and then check the tower map to see if the icon for the Quest Archive appears next to the Postmaster. If the Archive still does not appear, or you are unable to travel to the EDZ, it's possible progression for that character has been bugged somehow. In that case, it may be easiest to use a different character to complete the Guardian Rises campaign and unlock the Quest Archive that way. The unlock works account wide, so after unlocking it with one character, it should be available with your main.

The EDZ is on my Director map, greyed out and inaccessible. I have formed a Hunter, a Titan, and a Warlock. The Hunter is the avatar which I'm having trouble with and I've barely played the other two. It has taken me about 100 hours to reach this impasse with the Hunter so perhaps you can understand why I am reticent of throwing another 100 hours into another avatar only to face the same problem with the Quest Archive. I am aware of that as well as one of my avatar's progression unlocking the other two. This is a type of issue that caused me to abandon spending any more money on Bungie years ago, that is to say no support system provided by the company itself. Bear with me, I'm grateful for your assistance and advice but unless I'm misunderstanding the Bungie free to play Destiny 2 has lured me into a $40 purchase of the game which solved nothing. This does not set well with me. Before I game with another avatar I am going to request my money be refunded and spend not a dime more on any other Bungie offerings until I have this Quest Archive issue resolved. As a "Mentor" this last is probably not within your sphere of concern; I've read that the people serving this help system are volunteers and not necessarily employees of Bungie. I thank you for the help you provided me.

  • I understand your hesitation, but the EDZ should have unlocked as soon as you completed the "Guardian Rises" campaign, so it shouldn't take more than a few hours if you're very objective-focused. One tip I will give is that after you get your ship and are told to head to the tower, make sure you launch the "Advent" mission from the icon on the tower map, instead of simply fast-travelling there. After you complete the campaign after the strike, you should hopefully have access to the EDZ. As far as a refund, you're right, I'm only a volunteer so I can't help you there, you'd need to work with the retailer you purchased the game from.

  • I have successfully taken my Titan avatar through completion of the "Guardian Rises" campaign. The aftereffect was that everything which I reported inoperative with my Hunter avatar is now functioning properly, as well as the Titan storyline. My refund request to Steam for purchase of Destiny 2 Beyond Light was rejected, reason given = "We are unable to refund this purchase to your Visa ending with 97 at this time. Your playtime of an included product exceeds 2 hours (our refund policy maximum)." This foul attitude of game creators and distributors has, over years of being taken to the cleaners, forced me to employ methods of qualifying the integrity of games which some people view as questionable. As far as Steam is concerned I am now aware that I have a two hour window (gameplay) to determine if a purchase is going to be a lemon, or not. As far as Destiny 2 is concerned , now that the game is functional, I enjoy playing.

  • Glad you were able to get it to work and are enjoying the game again. It's unfortunate you spent so much time stuck unable to progress, hopefully you won't come across any other major issue. Best of luck.

  • Hi, ah I'm hoping to get a hint of my Steam refusing to launch Destiny 2. I spent $95.37 for Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and Forsaken and I was pressing on with gaming. Now, over a day after the 3.1.0 update to D2 many people can't launch the game in Steam. I've gone through a long list of suggestions from Twitter to youtube dealing with this problem with no relief. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • There's a hotfix going out in a little over half an hour from now that's supposed to fix this issue. Hopefully that takes care of it for you. Source: https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/1359962107760971776

  • Thanks for the heads up. It has indeed, that is on my machine. At 1756 hours today the D2 button in Steam displayed blue and "update" (I believe). I was so unnerved I forgot to take a screenshot. D2 launched and tossed my Guardian into transport to unfamiliar area which got him killed. Anyhow I can now rest my neck and game. Thanks for being there.

  • Hey, Bungie is aware of the issue and they're looking into it. It seems to be related to the CPU, and while some users have found a workaround, it involved editing your BIOS. That's something I would recommend against unless you're already comfortable editing those settings, as a wrong move could render your computer inoperable.
