Alignment looks up at the portal.
Alignment: “A mysterious occurrence such as this is never a good sign.”
English
-
The portal closes, leaving the sword embedded in the ground
-
Alignment: “Hm. This could be interesting to test.” Alignment touches the tip of the hilt with the tip of his fingers.
-
He appears in a long hallway lined with statues of knights, at the end of which is an altar that the sword is stabbed into
-
Confused, but more curious, Alignment walks to the end of the hall while examining the statues around him.
-
He notices the intricate detail on each statue as he walks. Ahead of him, a knight in black armor steps into the middle of the hallway, brandishing a piece of paper
-
Alignment: “Hello, sir! Or ma’am. Or other. It’s hard to tell with that well crafted armor on you. Can you perhaps inform me of where we are?”
-
The Knight chuckles. "Why certainly good sir. We are currently inside of the sword Clarent." He pauses for a second. "Y'know, I don't think we're actually inside him. Maybe just in his head or something. Anywho, just a few questions to ask you before you continue on."
-
Alignment: “Clarent? That name sounds familiar, but I’ll ask my questions after you’re done with yours.”
-
The Knight nods. "Very polite of you. Just a few easy questions. First: what... is your name?"
-
Alignment: “My name is Alignment, but if you’re the type who would like to spare time when addressing me, you may call me Al.”
-
"Very good. Question two: what do you plan to do with Clarent?"
-
Alignment: “To be honest, its arrival was completely unexpected. However, if I am to possess it, I plan on testing it through a few experiments. If it seems like something of interest, then I know of someone who could use it. If not, I will leave it here for another to claim.”
-
"What kind of tests would you run on it?"
-
Alignment: “If I find it to be a simple sword, then they will be simple tests of endurance and nothing more. If it has any unusual properties, I will test those as well. Regardless, I plan on making sure that the blade finishes these tests in one piece.”
-
"Ah, very good. Final question: do you plan on doing any heroic last stands that end in you dying?"
-
Alignment: “That depends on the situation. If there is a way to recall everything I care for and myself to somewhere safe, then no, I will not give up my life. However, if there is no other way to preserve my work and all that I hold dear from such a calamity, then I will gladly risk my life to save it.”
-
"Hmmph. That sounds similar to the last wielder. Well, I guess we'll see. You're free to continue forward."
-
Alignment: “I will, but may I ask my question first?”
-
"Of course."
-
Alignment: “Who was the last wielder? This sword looks and sounds familiar, so I believe I might have met him.”
-
"The last wielder was a warrior named Titan. He ran into some trouble, which is why he saved Clarent and sent the psychic call that drew you to Clarent."
-
Alignment: “Titan? It must have been some trouble if this was his last resort. Very well, I suppose I’ll be off now. Thank you for your time.” Alignment walks towards the end of the hall as instructed.
-
The Knight nods and walks away. As Alignment nears the altar, two Mandos walk out of the walls, Titan and his alter ego Mordred. They draw their swords in unison and wait for Alignment to approach
-
Alignment: “Doctor, buddy! It’s been a while! What’s with the weapons?”
-
"So it has. As for the weapons, you're trying to claim Clarent aren't you? This is just the second test."
