I think Luke Smith needs to stretch this game out as long as possible to keep profits coming in, so they can pay for whatever new IP they are currently working on. I think because Destiny was not released while [i]he[/i] was director, he doesn't care as much for the title and this has filtered down through the ranks. I think he sees this game for what it is; which is an opportunity to enrich himself and the company, in order to fund the [i]current[/i] Bungie's next big project.
I think they all see it as a stepping stone to something else, and the players of this community are just the mortar.
