The whole point of sunsetting is so that you’re not using the gun. Not so that you can upgrade it.

Then the weapon should be completely removed from the drop pool this season, including legacy events. There is no reason to run about 90% of the content in beyond light as it drops 1060 capped gear. Anyone who started with beyond light is getting massively ripped off if they actually bought the expansion. The amount of content that is valid is about the same as a $20 game now.

In that content the weapons are still useful. That content make up less than 20% of the game.

If you say so. You can blow through the BL content in 2 weeks, then going to the other older content or grinding for light by repeating content is all that's left. Once you start the older content and see the drops are trash power cap that makes it undesirable to even try. There have been minor content drops over the weeks, but nothing to justify the dlc cost. I'm trying to get my d1 fire team onto d2 and this sunaetting is just making everyone want to not play this as it takes the fun away. The different op weapons are what make this game.

You literally can’t finish everything yet since quite a bit of it is timegated. Strikes, crucible, gambit, raids, etc all drop fully viable gear. There’s still hundreds of weapons that can reach this seasons power cap. Acting like there’s not a lot gear or that most of the game drops sunset weapons is willful ignorance.

I keep getting the same crap weapons dropped with a few random rolls, so no there is not a huge wealth of gear in BL content and minus the exotics my current mains will probably sunset in the next couple season as they aren't even from this season. I only got them at the current season cap due to vanguard and nightfall strikes. There are a few weapons that are passable in the BL/europa group, but nothing as good for me as the older content. There aren't hundreds of good weapons each season, most are trash you just infuse or dismantle when you see it, then take that down for player play style and you get between 2 and zero great weapons each season per player. That is way having a huge pool of weapons with differing rolls is so crucial. If they want to be like every other shooter out there then this is the way to go and I don't see why I would play this anymore, but this is a looter shooter where huge gear pools are the value of the game. Let's be real pvp in this game is a joke also, so trying to be like COD or Halo isn't what this game sells for.

There are more weapons that are viable than sunset weapons that still drop. Almost all sunset weapons are no longer obtainable with the exception of the moon weapons and dreaming city weapons. If you think there’s only one or two good weapons this season, you’re a terrible judge of what’s good and what’s bad. The raid weapons this season are especially strong. The Europa weapons are also amazing. The season pass has a few bad ones but for the most part are unique and powerful.
