Update: I contacted Sony customer support and they said that they can't do anything about this situation. Their recommendation was to get more players to make a post about this issue so that it's brought to Bungie's attention.

Unfortunately they probably won't be able to do anything. This is a problem on Bungie's end, meaning that it's up to Bungie to fix it.
