Lock stuff you dont want to delete? They probably dont want to hire a staff of people to work full time restoring peoples characters and lost random rolls.

Cant lock your characters though. I can understand not restoring lost items since there would be way too many requests but restoring characters should be simple for any online only game. They have the files and can make changes as has been demonstrated any time they took away items from players exploiting glitches.
