Other than the ability to freeze targets (which would be OP as hell in a special weapon) there is no role for Stasis elemental weapons.
There are no stasis-based shields....and the only non void/solar/arc shields that are in the game are there to force us to interact with a specific mechanic in the game. Like destroying the Technocrat's shield generators.

If it is an extremely slow stacking slow into freeze effect I think it could be balanced. Still this thing does arc.

Then once again, what purpose does it serve other than just saying that we have a second stasis weapon? The issue isn't a lack of the weapon. Its a lack of a reason in the game FOR stasis elemental weapons.

Sorry, I have no idea what you are trying to tell me. All I'm saying is that I could see it being balanced if it freezes.

What I'm saying is that you have solar, void, and arc weapons because those weapons play a ROLE in the game. They break shields...and they are carriers of damage bonuses when there are "singe" modifiers. IOW, they exist, because the game play NEEDS them to exist. There is NO NEED in the game for stasis weapons. The only weapon there is right now is an exotic heavy weapon that freezes targets. But that's OP for primaries and specials....and there are no stasis singe modifiers...and not stasis shields that aren't attached to a mechanic that Bungie is trying to force us to engage with. So there is literally no reason for there to be any stasis weapons in the game right now. Bungie has to evolve the game play to the point where there is a role for those weapons to play, before simply adding them to the game. Otherwise they are Bridge to Nowhere.
