I ordered a laptop from Amazon during Prime Days a while back, and I refused delivery.
I shit you not, it was in a box that was two inches taller than the retail packaging box, four or five inches wider and longer, with a single piece of craft paper that was maybe a foot and a half long, most likely to provide "cushioning" for the computer. 🙄
Worst part, the outer box had a single strip of tape down the top center seam, three bands of tape "keeping that strip in place" and the short edges of the box bowed outwards like a pair of brackets < >, as if it had been on the bottom of a stack.
I took one look at package and told the driver I was refusing delivery. Still, he asked if I wanted to inspect the contents. The crushed box sides and craptacular tape job let me easily see the contents from the outside. Retail packaging all scuffed from sliding around all day and there was non-oem tape on the box.
Worst Amazon delivery I've ever received.
Still, it's not all bad, found a new laptop to buy, from a retailer instead if Amazon that's using Amazon as a storefront and so I'm betting the packaging will be spot on.
I ended up ordering the same computer, with some upgrades from a third party using the Amazon storefront.

Edited by Guardian9324: 11/24/2020 2:02:22 PMI’ve worked (former employee as it’s slave labor) at amazon as a driver and I can say that this is accurate. But there’s one problem, most of the time the drivers are GIVEN the packages like that, we were given a roll of scotch tape to seal any boxes that were open due to damage cause by the line workers who package and sort in the wearhouse. I’ve loaded my haul in the morning (we had to load our truck in 10 mins with over 250 packages) and seen line workers over yonder working, packaging and just THROWING peoples things to each other Becuase they’re lazy and want to complete the work faster, many fell and hit the ground full force. At the same time they’re worked like slaves in the line much worse then I was in my car all day, but still that’s a problem when upper management can’t fill and keep their line with workers, then they proceed to work the ones they have to the bone, causing them to quit and just increase the work load on the people working still, as well increasing the chance of package damage due to inexperienced workers and tired fed up employees. In case you didn’t know, after a while to most, a box is a box, and we had 100’s a day to deliver in a time span, where if we didn’t stay on schedule we’d have our boss call us and ask us what’s going on and to speed it up, they watched your progress on computers btw, so you were never really working alone. I couldn’t even take breaks most of the time and just used my driving to the next stop as my break, lunch? Yea right lmao, and when it came to a bathroom... I was out in the country where I had to pull over if I wanted to do anything... least to say if you were seen and reported by anyone for doing that you’ll get fired on the spot. If you ever have a problem with your package and arnt satisfied they will more then likely give you a refund or another free shipment of whatever you had ordered. At amazon the customer comes first, even at the expense of the employees.
