I also got this line, but I did the New Light stuff afterwards.
A good way to test would be to run Exodus Crash and see if Cayde calls you “wolfie” at the start.
Edit: after running the Empire Hunt version of this mission I’ve been called “destroyer of Oryx” and “the Young Wolf” so doing the New Light stuff doesn’t seem to effect it.
