There is no harm in pulling one and banking it, but generally Bungie have given us the ability to keep static rolls as pullable from collections.
I imagine the "new-current" versions that drop for this coming event will appear in collections as a separate entry.
There has been a shift recently in how Bungie manage our collections long term now it's an established concept. Take Redrix's Claymore, we can now pull the static model but it may be added back into the loot pool later.
As I say no harm in pulling one just in case but I wouldn't be panicking :)

My vault is quickly filling up with crap I dunno what to do with because we can’t seem to get any info at all about anything happening in the near future. Armor I like aesthetically for when(if) transmog happens. “Sunset” god rolls. Armor 2.0mats we may/may not need in BL. Ghost shells/sparrows I spent fortune in mats pulling from collections for the roll I want. Etc. all of it is because nobody knows anything! Edit: FFS they can’t even get the new random rolls right in the API for this event! That FOMO garbage can only take it so far til ppl say screw it and bounce all together

Yeah it's possible they make a second entry, this is a just in case thing. No panic here ^_^ You bring up Redrix in the collection, but it took AGES for them to add it back after they removed it from the loot pool so it's airways best to assume they won't be available and play it safe in my opinion.
