Geo stands up, her Titan right behind. “Finally.” She turns towards the demon. “Hey, big guy, door’s open.”

"Clever," the thing says in your mind, "but I sense your mine..." The central one grabs you and starts trying to absorb you! Its face splitting open like a flower and moving closer!

Geo attempts to take a grenade, and shove it down the creatures throat.

It doesn't really have a throat, it's just a big old humanoid slime, which makes shoving the grenade into it even easier! ...but it doesn't let go... you get the sense it's going all in on mutually assured destruction. But! There is a loud shrieking from below as a massive creature of vines, roses, and zombie flesh rises! With three blooming heads and glowing roses gathered at the center of them!

“I think you have a problem. If you want the book back, you have to let me go. I didn’t and was never going to use it myself. But did you really think I would ever trust you? Just think. This whole library is warded to you. If you really belonged here, why is that?”

But as the plant Hydra roars, its flowers begin to glow brighter, and the flames begin to envelop the bodies around you, it releases. "There, I have enough to hunt you down later. Just before geo steps through, she turns back. “Funny. I could read the books just fine.” Geo throws herself into the portal.

Darkness takes you... ...and then there is light! Emerging from the mansion, you see clear blue skies and the sun rising above the distant city. Taking in your surroundings you find yourself on a cliffside courtyard of cobblestone paths and Elven statues with vines and moss creeping across them. Oddly, there is a fountain with flowing water and gardens full of colorful flowers and insects. The temperature is actually pleasant despite the altitude. And yet a chill wind rushes past and you swear you hear a faint whisper. Facing the source, you see a stone entrance built into the side of the mountain...

Geo attempts to open up comms to Shelby, while also treating her wounds.

Your comms work again! You are on the opposite side of the mansion from where you entered!

[spoiler]No static or anything if that's what you're wating for. You're out of the mansion so no magic pocket realm stuff anymore! Some other relevant info tho: The demon entered after you and hasn't been seen since and the way into the mountain is only about 7 feet tall and very narrow.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Chain 7[/spoiler] The vines do not react as you approach. The zombies are moving back to their guard position behind you.

Geo looks for a place to try and slip through.

The vines are still growing upon the shelf, but haven't completely covered the slot. You think you could slide it through!

Geo slowly pulls out the book, and carefully tries to slide it in.

Edited by Unseelie Nil: 10/12/2020 6:07:48 AMYou slide the book in, hear a click, and the shelf collapses inward, dropping the vines onto the ground. It then slides behind the other shelves revealing a small hollow. Within the hollow is a single book, bound in black leather. The book has no titles or other markings upon it aside from a familiar symbol at the top of the spine, the same symbol in the seal upon the invitations.

Geo uncloaks, and uses the blade of New Rose to carefully pull the book towards her.

As you do, the vines rise and coil around you! From behind, you hear the zombies approaching, still humming that strange tune.

The zombies move to intercept you!

Geo jumps onto the side of a bookcase, and wall runs to the edge.

As you do, you see roses growing around the corner, stretching out to grab you!
