Staten is a mediocre writer, but I can't deny the campy charm he brought to the original series. This may very well be a good thing for 343.

He wrote halo 2, arguably the best halo campaign. How is he mediocre?

Edited by o_____________o: 8/27/2020 9:20:55 PMIf you had asked me "How was he mediocre?" first, I would have pointed to halo 2's campaign as an example. So I'm not sure where to go from here. I didn't say he was a bad writer, just mediocre. The dialogue in halo 2's campaign isn't anything new, I've seen it before in many movies.

So duh... of course it isn’t new...
Halo 2 was still written really well lol
It has the best character development, best plot, best steaks. The only thing I think it doesn't have number 1 in is the setting, Reach takes that cake. Halo 2 also is considered to have of one of the best stories in gaming. The only complaint people have is the cliff hanger. But the cliff hanger did increase hype for 3 probably.
