I hate the fact that we don’t have access to certain rewards and missions from previous seasons! I got all the expansions and upgraded “battlepass” for shadowkeep and it’s seasons but was unable to play them because of unexpected financial trouble (grandma needed money for chemo and other medicines and is currently deceased) and couldn’t enjoy what I payed for because it’s limited!
To not be able to have access to these previous pieces of content because it’s so short lived is bull especially when you got time limited weapons like Felwinters Lie, Heir Apparent, Saint-14s Headbash finisher and all that other stuff that is so short lived I and certainly others couldn’t get and it gets annoying when some of the best gear is unobtainable now!
I can understand sunsetting but the inability to have access to these pieces of content is dumb especially after paying for it beforehand and how powerful some of this content is! I would’ve loved to have access to stories like Saint-14 but now can’t because it’s “a seasonal story”. I say keep the story missions accessible and the content earnable especially if we payed for the content in the first place!

2 RepliesIt is theft, plain and simple. Do not stand for this. You cannot legally agree to a contract that allows an entity to commit a criminal act (such as theft), especially if you are forced (which you are). Such illegal contracts can be voided in court. Stop worshipping ToS. Break the shackles. You can be more than blind sheep herded by big, soulless corporations. You have rights, consumer rights. Remember those. And fight.

13 RepliesEdited by SilentFight2411: 8/28/2020 12:18:40 AMIn the 20 or so years that online gaming has been around it still baffles me that gamers still think they own the contents of any game. We own licenses to ACCESS the game's content. The license is what we own & have no rights to the game. Players really need to read the EULA, TOS, SLA etc, (depending on the laws in your country).
-
You think this game was made for you to have fun and play your way? No no no, it's bungie's way or nothin.
-
The thought behind the content vault is beyond stupid. But content has been removed before. D1 House of Wolves. Missions were removed. The Wolves were no longer on the field. All that remained was a strike and the occasional heroic mission. The scope this time is much larger. 60 - 70 percent of the game is being “shelved”. With very little being brought in as a return. Oh, sure Europa and the Cosmodrome are coming. Along with 1 new strike and 1 new raid. Don’t forget the reskinned weapons and armor. Remember when we were told we would be able to take our gear with us and upgrade it for as long as we play the game. They didn’t want us to be without our favorite piece(s) of gear. It all falls on one line: Making new content is hard.

2 RepliesI’ll be honest.....this whole year was set up on fomo. Seasons are too short in my book. I think it should be 3 a year not 4. I see no reason why after you finish the current seasons pass why you cannot go back and complete and unfinished passed you bought in previous seasons
-
You signed an agreement. Like it or not, you agreed to this.
-
You paid for a game that doesn't have a good rewards system. That's the end of it.
-
9 RepliesLmao no one "owns" it except bungie. You own a license to play it. Not to keep it.
-
1 ReplyI'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. While you can't get any quest weapons, you can get some of the weapons from the Umbral Decoder. It's not much, but it's better than nothing.
-
Welcome to FOMO. You must be new here.
-
You signed the Terms of Service. You are paying for access to the content. That being said Luke confirmed next year they are keeping content from the seasons to be year round rather than only a few months.
-
2 RepliesThat's just not a fun situation to be in :( This is largely, I think, why Bungie has said they are moving away from the FOMO "you had to be there" that was year 3. But unfortunately I don't think they will care enough to retroactivly give you the quests from the previous year. I didn't play any Y3 until this season and I would love me some felwinters. I've come to terms with not getting it. But it would suck worse to have paid for the season and not been able to play.
-
1 ReplyI’m so sorry for your loss. This whole pass thing is designed to give people FOMO, bungie can say everything under the sun, but anything’s time sensitive in these kinds of games is FOMO. Anyone can see that.

1 ReplyOne question... You say you paid for the content but due to an illness you couldn't afford it? So which is it? Did you pay for it and not play it? Or did you not pay for it and skipped the season?
-
2 RepliesOnly points I agree with are heir apparent and felwinter. Felwinter is currently so good that it's dumb to use any other pellet shotgun. Cosmetics can be timegated, not weapons. Especially not quest items.

7 RepliesCondolences in regards to your grandma but it's not going to prevent me from being cold. FOMO has it's place and while this year was heavy with it. We all had 3 months to get things per season and Bungie have watered down the grind so much even a casual can keep up. You'd have to be actively throttling yourself to be behind. IRL Circumstances do not come into play when regarding the game. Some things we cannot control but unfortunately sometimes we lose out. I always find it funny when people cry about FOMO. Should I demand a PC port for D1 because I refused to play on (from my perspective) an inferior and extortionate platform? No. We make choices same as Bungie. Sometimes we get out of our control situations and sadly friend. We lose. When you pay for content in future. Be somewhat sure you can participate.

1 ReplyEdited by reenry: 8/27/2020 10:44:44 PMBut if you do everything one day 1 what are you gonna do the next day? And your situation sucks but it you shouldnt blame Bungie for a personal investment.
-
2 RepliesThey have to time gate it. Otherwise, GLADD and all his cronies wohld have everything in a day..and then they would complain in Twitch...and then people that like Twitch would complain that GLADD isnt glad...and then they would all be sad. Do you want GLADD.....to be...sad......?
-
13 Replies1) Bungie has nothing to do with your specific circumstances. Dont care if you have 9 kids and 3 wives and have to pay off your $1,000,000 loan. Not my problem, not their problem. Keep it to yourself. 2) Timegating has its place, especially in a live game. There have of course been instances where severe timegating can be frustrating, like in the thunderlord quest where we could literally only do 1 step per week which was like "get 20 kills". But, alas with everything in life, a balance can be found. 3) Seasonal content was advertised before they even released as being time limited. It is your fault if you cant read that. That said, the FOMO isnt negligible and so the future seasons starting this year will all be availble for the full year of their linked expansion, so you can catch up whenever.

2 RepliesYou'll get the usual crap about the license which is true. But there has to be a limit. What if Beyond Light changed Destiny into a puzzle game or a racing game? Do you think everyone would just go along because it's legal? Or would there be hell to pay.
-
2 RepliesWhile I really feel for your awful circumstances, it’s very hard for bungie to cater to everything and everyone, especially when it comes to out of the blue stuff like that. Hope your gma is better
-
Nope doesn’t have to be this way. You agreed to this system so you really can’t complain when it happens
-
1 ReplyAgree with you. The story content, at a minimum, should be preserved.
-
1 ReplyBungie thinks everyone plays this and only this everyday lol

#youhadtobethere Luke Smith’s elaborate strategy to enforce commitment. Can’t expect much from employees without vision , foresight or management background.
