*I look upon the city, as I hurriedly put on a old 1800s style diving suitand draw Excalibur. From there I look for any civilians that need help.*

-
The sounds of innocent lives in danger echoes in your ears, and the day has just begun. You spot about 5 man-sized crabs assaulting a house with people on the roof, taking refuge from the rising waters.
-
*I swim towards it, taking out my shield and stabbing within its sword when I get enough range to draw its attention to me.*
-
Excalibur slices right through its carapace, and the beast makes a rapid retreat into the water. Two of its allies, however, move to attack you with their pincers!
-
*I raise my shield to one and stab as its pincers try to strike me. Then slash sideways at the other.*
-
The first strikes twice, missing once, and the other is deflected by your shield. You stab it, and the crab recoils, but stays in the fight. The other also strikes twice, but you manage to evade them. Your slash cuts deep, and the crab retreats into the waters.
-
*I push my shield at the one remaining and stab at it if it still lives, then if I can I turn to see how I can help the trapped people.*
-
You finish off the other crab, and only two of these monsters remain. The people are pretty safe all things considered, but should probably be moved somewhere safer.

Edited by ImaDrizzit: 8/25/2020 9:01:46 PM*I climb up to them and walk over.* “Hello, im here to save you. Do you have a raft or something you can sit on? I can bring you to the water and pull you to safety.”
-
"We don't have anything. We were rushed out of homes, and found the waters were rising, and didn't have time." The rooftop is pretty empty, and you don't see much that could be used as a raft. However, about 3 blocks away, you do spot a raft drifting, unmanned...
-
“Alright I see a raft off in the distance. I’ll get it to you so stay here. And take this in case you really need to use it but don’t provoke anything!” *I hand one of them a hand cannon loaded with 9 bullets.*
-
A fisherman takes it and nods, and the people gather, ready to move.
-
*I leap back into the water and swim to the raft. Looking for any enemies, civilians, and allies as I go.*
-
As you swim towards the raft you feel a light tugging at your ankle. It suddenly grows stronger, and an alien grip brings pulling you under.
-
*I go under and look for whatever is dragging me.*
-
You descend, and see the easily recognizable tentacles of a giant octopus. It continues to pull you towards the bottom of the sunken street.
-
*I cleave at what it is grabbing me with, and prepare my shield to bash if I get close enough.*
-
In the deep, flowing water you find it difficult to swing, and you blade misses the tentacle. Another slimy appendage reaches out, and grabs your other leg.
-
*In the darkness I make Excalibur glow with brilliant light, which still probably wouldn’t be that much but it could let me see a bit at the least. I then strike at the second tendril as it approaches.*
-
The light works, and you can see your adversary much better now. In a clean motion, Excal slices right through the tentacle. And in a stroke of luck, a dagger comes from above, striking the octopus in its chest. Despite these injuries, the beast keeps its hold on your ankle, intent on eating you!
-
*I let it pull me towards it so I can stab at its mouth when I get closer and also try to grab the dagger.*
-
It draws you closer, but grabs you with another tentacle, causing Excal to miss. You do manage to grab the dagger though!
-
*I try to break my sword my hand free as I stab at the beast with the dagger in my left hand with all my strength, the strength that allowed me to withstand blows from toaster himself.*
-
You free your hand, and in a last ditch effort the octopus releases a cloud of ink to obscure your vision.
-
*I try to swim above it and bring both my sword and dagger down upon the beast.*
-
Both blades sink deep, and the tentacles relax and lie still. The beast drifts to the floor, lifeless.
